^ I really like Van Gundy. He never comes across as being a jerk towards a player, but more a passionate guy who wants to do a good job and get the best out of his players. I loved Howard before, but he's really being an idiot this past year. Even his body language in the video shows he's nervous and is lying to his grave. What a guy.

What was the deal with Odom anyway? I've always read he was a good teammate in LA, but this year what's gone wrong for a guy like Cuban to let him rot?

http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miam...ns-compensated

"It's a lot of things you do for the Olympics -- a lot of jerseys you sell," Wade said after the Heat's practice on Wednesday in advance of Thursday's game against Chicago. "We play the whole summer. I do think guys should be compensated. Just like I think college players should be compensated as well. Unfortunately, it's not there. But I think it should be something, you know, there for it."

I've always really liked and respected Wade. This is just disgusting though. Sad to see he's turned into a complete ###### ala LBJ. Here's hoping the Heat go out first round this year.

What a lowlife. I'm personally offended that someone like him that's been handed a golden spoon in life could be so selfish. Just reafirms my belief in the NBA being nothing but a bunch of rich, classless thugs. I wish the whole league would just disappear.

If you're an Olympic athlete and want money, get it through sponsors (which he already gets plenty of).

You go play the games to win a medal. Not money.

Wade's quickly becoming as much of an asshat this season as James and Bosh. That team is totally dislikable and it's just a matter of time before the infighting begins.

NEW YORK -- Tom Benson brought stability to the Saints nearly three decades ago and now plans to do the same for the Hornets in small-market New Orleans.
Quote:
A person familiar with the deal says the purchase price is $338 million. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the financial terms have not been announced.
Quote:
The sale of the team to Benson has to be approved by the NBA's Board of Governors, which was meeting in New York on Friday.
Quote:
The framework of ownership negotiations were handled in a way that a new Hornets owner would have to accept the lease worked out between the NBA and Gov. Bobby Jindal. The lease agreement also called for $50 million in improvements to the basketball stadium, which sits right across the street from the Superdome.

I'm guessing Dwight "Ass Clown" Howard will be playing elsewhere next year, unless Stan Van Gundy is gone.

Any team in the NBA would LOVE to have Dwight Howard with the possible exception of Chicago. And also Orlando.

Howard's talent is unquestioned, I just think his attitude is total garbage. I know teams would be lining up for him, but for a guy who's never actually won anything, for him to be making demands (like firing Ron Jeremy...errr...SVG) is ridiculous.

And now he's out for the year...

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard will undergo back surgery on Friday morning in Los Angeles to repair a herniated disk, effectively ending his season and eliminating him from participation in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Howard's agent said on Thursday night.

"It hurts (emotionally)," Howard told ESPN the Magazine's Chris Broussard. "That's the first thing -- it hurts. And then with people saying and thinking I'm quitting on my team. This is a real issue. I tried to play through it and it just made my back worse."

Howard has been complaining of back problems since early March, but it wasn't until Los Angeles-based spine surgeon Dr. Robert Watkins examined him last week that the herniated disk was discovered.

So I am getting my playoff tickets for Heat and Magic and noticed today that Miami heat tickets are cheaper buying from scalpers then through ticketmaster. I never thought tickets that haven't gone on sale yet would be cheaper on the secondary market

The meathead Ron Artest (Metta World Peace lol) with another idiotic move. Guy is such a punk. Custom for him but this was a brutal elbow:

Clearly a dirty play, fully intentional, but in the last slo-mo replay, it wasn't his elbow that got him, but his tricept. Difference is it was mostly muscle that hit Harden as opposed to the bone of his elbow, which makes a difference (Harden would have been dropped and out cold). Artest is a fun player when he's on, but he crosses the line and this was probably the worst he's done.

Darnell Mayberry:

"James Harden does have a concussion. He will travel back to to OKC with the team, but his status for the final two games is uncertain."
