This IV package is going to be offered in three forms: Redemption, Salvation and In-Room Treatment. The latter will set you back $500 for the first person suffering from a hangover, while for his/her friends it will cost an additional $375 / “victim”.

Hangovers have been around for thousands of years, but scientists still haven't figured out the basic biology behind the affliction, says Joris Verster, an assistant professor of psychopharmacology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Verster is one of the world's most active researchers in the field of hangovers.
According to Verster, nobody really knows why people who feel great while actually drinking alcohol fall into such a sorry state long after the alcohol has left their system. Dehydration may play a small role, he adds, but the process seems to involve a complicated mix of inflammatory compounds released by the immune system.
More to the point, he says, of all of the products marketed for hangover relief, "no hangover cure is proven to be effective."

Just got back from Vegas last night. It was a good one......
I tried Hangover Heaven Friday morning after a gigantic day/night of drinking. My hangover wasn't epic proportion, but it was about a 7/10.
I can't say if it helped or not. I felt a lot less nauseous afterwards and it got rid of my headache, but I was still a little jittery and tired. Dr. Burke said that the one thing they can't cure is fatigue and alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
For $130 I'd likely do it again though. Sitting poolside drinking for 6 hours probably dehydrates you, so at the very least it's going to get some fluids and vitamins into your body.

set everything up with a vip company in vegas and they will take care of everything and they should be able to guarantee you a great spot. We got a table for 10 guys and 4 girls at the marquee, right in the middle of the bar and the table section was raised a bit higher than the dance floor, costed us $500 each for the guys, the girls didn't have to pay. you get your own security guy, hostess to pour your drinks and a cleanup guy. also if your bottles run out, the clubs will make you buy more or else they kick you out of the table. I would recommend Jeff Ginsberg from VIP nights las vegas, hes the owner and his team is fantastic. Jeff makes sure you will get the table for the whole night, even if you run out of bottles. wouldn't recommend anyone else

I really disagree with this advice. The economic state in Vegas is poor right now and the clubs are being hit badly. It's pretty easy to put the screws to them, especially if you are wiling to drop $500.00 each. Vegas is all about negotiating and bartering, especially now. Obviously plan ahead, but it doesn't hurt to ask the door guy.
The last time I was in Vegas, there were several clubs offering free cover and free drinks for the girls. Things are rough there right now. Obviously the premium clubs are going to remain in demand, but if you're paying $500.00 a head, it should include all the drinks you would ever want and top notch service. There should be no issue of getting kicked off your table if you don't order more. You and your friends just dropped $5000. Yes those clubs are full, but the people in them are buying less booze than before and the clubs are feeling the pressure.
Basically, my point is, in Vegas you should haggle and demand top notch for your dollar.

You're paying for a great night out with your friends that really is unique to Vegas. They do bottle service in other cities but it's not the same as in LV. If you're a single guy, then ya it's going to get you laid - almost guaranteed. If not not single like myself you can just sit back and enjoy your night more.
- no bar line ups
- no one bumping into you
- your own personal server
- good liquour
- your own bouncer
It just makes going to a club in Vegas really enjoyable. People spend similiar amounts of money on other things in Vegas that I would consider "######ed".
Like I said, to each their own.
edit: I will say 1500 is pretty crazy for one night but 500 is quite typical.

Just noticed on Twitter that O'Shea's officially closed there doors on April 30. This is due to the new Linq project that is currently being worked on. A new O'Shea's will open in 2013! Also, I read that Senor Frogs has opened in T.I, have only heard good things about this place in Mexico so I would imagine the Vegas version would be fun too!!!

Got home from there on Wednesday night. Had free shots at O'shea's, they were giving them away at the top of every hour starting on Sunday. It was a "Drink Us Dry" promo then on Wed am the parcade was gone.
Golfed at Highland Falls and at the Badlands. If your up for a challenge play the Badlands it is a beautiful course in excellent condtion. Highland Falls had some nice views of the city.
Went to O and to Absynthe both excellent but in different ways. Vegas still seems as busy as ever, even the "local casinos" seemed busy. They have a new Bon Jovi themed light show down at Freemont.

So it's been discussed a bit in here, but what's the best way to go clubbing in Vegas? I'm going to be there at the same time as a few guys from work and I think they're doing a night of clubbing.
So far the options I've seen in this thread are:
- bottle service
- club crawl
Is it possible to show up to a club early enough to get in without a hassle? Or is it a line-up no matter what?

You should be able to get in no problem if you show up early enough BUT don't expect it to be any cheaper, they will still try to jam bottle service dow your throat or make you pay an inflated cover charge.

This is a solid strategy but it's still risky.
Most clubs in Vegas are dead until around 11 and being bored in a vegas club gets expensive very fast considering drinks are $20. But on the other hand, if you want to go to the best clubs, predicting when to go is tough as well.
I was down there in August with 4 other guys and we stopped by at Marquee on a Saturday (probably the most popular club in Vegas) at 8 o'clock and the bouncer told us the best strategy is to come super early (he suggested 9 pm), get a stamp and then leave, go gamble and what not and then come back and get in with no hassle.
This didn't work for us because we got on a roll at the tables and didn't make it until 10pm by which the TABLE line (as in bottle service) was twice as long as any line I've ever seen in Calgary and the "VIP Line" (which I'm assuming is just the regular line) was twice that length, if not more. Oh and even the best looking girls were standing in line fyi.
THE BEST STRATEGY:
Almost every night in Vegas there will be a big name DJ performing at one of the big clubs (more so in the summer but still). For example, this Saturday Steve Aoki is playing at Surrender. You may not have a clue who Steve Aoki is but who cares? The fact that he (or any big name) is playing there means:
a) It'll be pretty crazy
b) YOU CAN BUY TICKETS BEFOREHAND.
Tickets usually cost you the same amount as cover and they guarantee you entry regardless of male:female ratio, as long as you show up at a reasonable time (i.e. don't come past midnight). Obviously the earlier you go the less you wait in line because most people going there that night will also have tickets.
As for the music, you can always youtube the DJ to get a feel for his music but realize that it's vegas and it's a nightclub. 99% of the music is going to be house anyways (unless it's hiphop night). Plus, these DJ's don't get on stage until 1-2 am anyway at which point you will be so smashed that you won't care what is playing.
So yeah, that’s my suggestion.
P.S. Go gamble and get slammed off free drinks beforehand or be prepared to go broke. If you're the type who expects to spend around $100 on a night out in Calgary don't be surprised if you need to blow $500 to have the same type of spending habits (5 drinks will cost you $100+tip)

I've never thought of that, I do it all the time around here but didn't think they would stamp you in Vegas. Totally gonna try it out in a month, thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the tips. For this trip cash isn't much of an issue (although I'd rather lose a wad at the tables than on bottle service). I just don't want to wait in line for 3 hours to maybe get in somewhere.
I think we'll either go the DJ/Ticket option or try out the club crawl.

Yeah thats what the bouncer told us. It seemed to us that they were pretty friendly if you had questions before they were busy. We talked to a few at different clubs throughout our trip and they were all pretty helpful.

Yeah outside of tickets, crawls and stamps, I'm assuming your best bet to avoid lines is avoid the busiest places (Marquee and XS when we were there) and try to get to know some girls. We got to skip the line at Haze cause we met some girls who decided to hangout with us (and our ratio was still 5 guys to 3 girls)

If I could do that I wouldn't have to go down to Vegas as often
I think we might take a look at The Gallery. Sunday nights look decent there.

Anybody else play keno?
Not much for slots or video poker but was killing time in Vegas a couple weeks ago playing keno. I get down there on business every couple months and don't do a lot of gambling but I was digging it because a $20 would last a long time even if I wasn't winning. Would shoot for 3of3 to build my bankroll up a bit and then went for 5/5.
A .25cent bet (1 credit) on 5/5 pays $220. Hit it within 20 mins.
Ended up playing keno the whole trip when killing time and ended up hitting the 5/5 five times in five days... one with 2 credits in for almost $500 on that pop alone. Was up $1200 when I left, all from keno.
Anyone else have good experience with keno?

I generally hate Keno, but I was in a 'casino' in Montana on my birthday. No slots or our version of VLTs there, just keno and video poker. I saw a game I recognized from up here (something with cows and aliens), thought it was the slot machine, and sat down. Turns out it was the same theme, just in a Keno game. I already ordered a beer so figured I may as well play a round. Put in $20, hit a bonus game within about 10 picks, and walked out $500 richer.
Haven't played keno since.
Do you pick the numbers or go the 'quick pick route'?

I won $180 in 2 turns at Shanks. My only experience in Keno lol.
Vegas turned me into a Craps man. It's weird playing craps in Calgary though. Everyone is so much more quiet here.

Zarkana opens up as a new Cirque show in November. I'm heading down in January so if anyone checks it out, please review.

Craps is great but I really wish I didn't add to the term "press it" to my vocabulary.
I always have so much money on the table just hammered and pressing my bets that I don't think I've ever won. At one point a buddy informed me that I had over $1000 dollars sitting on the table from just pressing bets, I walked away down $200...fml
