The last grey cup was an 8-10 team that got hot for the playoffs. That team was on the decline and you could argue that he never got enough grey cups out of all those stacked teams in the 90's.

The proposed retractable roof stadium in Regina was estimated at $430 million before it was scrapped. Hell, Ivor Wynne's renovation, which only rebuilds half the stadium is $150 million+
If you can find some people in Calgary who are willing to drop that kind of coin on a team that plays 9 games a year, then please do, because I'm sure this city would love to have a state of the art stadium. Until then, you will have to deal with a 50 year old stadium with crappy concourses. It sucks but it is the reality that the team faces right now.

$25 million is the cost they estimated early and that is long past especially now they are having to rework it as it may top $50 million when all is said and done. IMO $250 may be able to get it done if you keep the seat count low enough and keep it basic.

Exactly.
The amount that McMahon is used for anything that holds more the a couple thousand people, is 9 Stamps games, plus 1 exhibition, plus playoffs, plus Dinos games, and maybe a CIS playoff game or too. Maybe a high school final, a Colt game or two. With the FieldTurf now in at Shouldice highscohol and the Colts can play there theoretically. So 25 days a year, at very most?
Yes, there may be a few more concerts events that come to town if a new retractable/domed stadium, and it would be something for people who care about that to beat their chests about in civic pride, but thats a lot of coin to drop up front for not a lot of financial return or even potential return. Taxpayers would have a tough time to foot any of that bill, no way the U of C can, and any other investors would have to see some sort of return.
Ivariably, when Stamps tickets go up 30% at least along with personal licenses, people would complian about that too.

So? he won the Grey Cup...int that the goal at the beginning of every year regardless of how it happens?

No you cant.
When you are, by far, the best in a decade there is no arguing that you should be better. I dont know what your expectations are but it seems like the team/coach should never lose a friggin game and if they do they should be fired or resign...which is ridiculous levels of desire at any level of fandom or even ownership.

I am embarrassed that Tristan Jackson plays for the Riders. Selfish, selfish, selfish.
I hated that junk when those classless assclowns Browner and Anderson etc did it for the Stamps (and now the Alouettes) and I hate it when it's the Riders.
Shameful display. Riders have been a pretty classy organization since we dumped Shivers and Barrett and all the thugs that they brought to Sask. Now this1-6 team has a bunch of me first prima donnas who have no talent and act like jackasses.
Well maybe not a bunch, but it is clear that Miller - even though he wasn't a very good coach with the key decisions - at least could keep his guys in line and committed to the team mentality.
That and durant has gone full ######. It's like if Hank turned to Frank and never switched back.
Being bad is one thing, but do it with some class. I'll be a Rider fan for life but I don't want to suffer the Shiver era all over again, where the players are doing more coke than Whitney Houston and the coaches have no control over their players.
It's one thing to suck, it happens, it's another to have no class while doing it. And I know it isn't the whole team but there is a segment of the team that are totally playing as individuals.
I also don't think Miller or Tamman are good judges of skill and talent. At least not the way that Tillman was. Miller and Austin were all able to get the most out of rosters that weren't that much better than this one and even thought the Riders have never had an all-star roster Tillman was able to provide them with better personnel for those positions.

^ Agreed 100%
And to make it worse Jackson has been a bust as far as a returner goes.
(And as I type that he actually manages to have a good return)
EDIT: Holding....

Great first half so far.
Even better to see Rider fans throwing the coaches under the bus and giving Durant a complete pass for his crap play. Unbelievable how these fans consistent give him a pass despite his awful play.

I think most Rider fans realize that this team will only go as far as Durant takes them. I don't believe he's getting a free pass from anyone

That site is 50-50 from my viewings (though I haven't been there lately so mayhaps its changed in the last week).
However when the defence plays the same coverage every single play I think that getting on the coaches is warranted

I may have missed the posts down on Durant but for the most part I see posts talking about how Berry is ruining him, without Berry Durant would be tops in the league and that Durant should just call his own plays. The last part is the best considering how Durant has shown about 0 football intelligence in his time in the league.
Didn't know if the Argos could hold on since they are so terrible themselves but so far it looks decent this half.

Argos look ready to throw this game away.
Lucky for them it is the Riders so they should be able to hold on fairly easily.

Well the Argos did everything they could to hand the game to the Riders but even they aren't bad enough to lose to the Priders.

Time to run Getzlaf out of town.... NEED to make that catch
Why throw it to the end zone on 2nd and 3rd down? Terrible decisions. Way to give us hope and then disappoint again. If the Riders had played like that the rest of the game this game wouldn't have been close.
The first 50 minutes played by the Roughriders was probably the worst football played so far this season.
Welcome to Staggerville.

I see a minimum of 1 coaching change. I wouldn't complain if it was 3 coaches gone as well as the GM. Terribly run team, terrible playcalling, terrible execution by the players.
Anyone not named Dressler or Freeman should be plenty worried about their job.

Not sure why he is supposed make that catch. It was thrown way over his head and the DB knocks it out of his hands as he is twisting down to the ground.
Perhaps if it was a decent throw he would have made that catch.
