Graphical effects on the PC are amazing, explosions, shockwaves, all look great. First thing I did though was turn off blur, man that is annoying.
Only gripe is that the planes are pretty much useless IMO. Miss the good days of 1942/Vietnam bombing runs.

Once you unlock the weapons systems I'm sure they'll become more useful.

I have a i7 O/C 3.2GHZ and a 1GB ATI 4870. My monitor is 2560X1600 so I know my GPU is weak. What's the minimal I should get so that I can run BF3 in 2560X1600 in medium details nowadays? I prefer to stay with the ATI family. Thanks.

I played a bit of multiplayer last night, graphics and sound are amazing especially with the turtle beaches on. Gameplay was pretty good as well with no lag, however i did get booted and was unable to sign in to the ea servers until i signed out/in xbox live.
My only annoyance so far is that you are only able to 4 friends per squad. I would have thought there was a way to join squads as i have more than 3 other friends that play the game.

I played a bit last night too - the sound is amazing. My wife came down to the basement and asked me to turn it down a bit. I was following a tank around doing some repairs and the sound of that cannon is incredible. The tanks even slide to the side a bit when you fire off to the side.

2560x1600 on high with ultra texture requires 5870/6950 in Crossfire. I'd suspect a single 5870/6950 will be okay for a minimum at that resolution on medium.

I have a physical disability that doesn't allow my to use LT efficiently, and I don't want to waste money on BF3 if I'm stuck fumbling to aim down sight (not fun!).

Played on PS3 last night for a couple hours. Sounds are fantastic, anyone else hear the cats and music in Paris? Still a horrible pilot, crashed the F18 3 times. Helo controls are different from BC2, took a little getting used to. Pretty good game so far. Still getting used to the prone postion, hate running past what you think is a dead body and then getting shot in the back. LOL.

What you don't do what evergamer does and empty a full magazine into every dead body that you see?
Boy if some people fought in actual wars like they did in this game it would be the International Courts and war crime trials for all.
There needs to be a negotiating button in this game.

Yes that was a fun map. Ended the evening/morning running through the narrrow Paris streets, being chased by an Abrams.

The element of true darkness in the game is amazing as well. Being able to really hide in the dark or not being able to spot your enemy is a great new addition.
Hate players that use the flashlight right in your eyes though.

Instead of buying a new mouse why not just dust the crumbs off your old Dell mouse? I don't buy a new computer every time the inside of my case gets dusty!
If you think this post was serious you should mouse 1 yourself in the head :-)
