I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
Looks like enviro canada might have got this one wrong (finger's crossed). I know they are sometimes way off in forecasting weather in the summer, but they are rarely this wrong when it comes to heavy snowfall warnings.
Wonder how much money the city spent prepping the roads and paying city workers in anticipation of a huge dump. Looks like we may still get some over the next couple days, but nowhere near as much as originally expected.
The system was incredibly dynamic. Almost impossible to pinpoint where the moisture influx would happen. All they knew is the band of snow would be wide and long, so it was probably best to do a blanket warning for southern alberta. Better to be prepared than not.
With these sorts of storms, computer models are heavily relied upon. This was the forecasters "thoughts" late yesterday:

IS WHERE EXACTLY THE MAIN SNOW BAND WILL FORM. WARNINGS HAVE BEEN
ISSUED FOR MOST REGIONS ALONG MTNS AND FTHLS THROUGH TO SOUTHESTERN
AB. WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE MORE CONCISE AS THE SITU DEVELOPS.

Because of your lack of snow I spent my Saturday night in Airdrie. Airdrie! Do you know how lame Airdrie is on a Saturday night? If you dont, its super lame. And when theres no hockey on you might as well just blow your own head off.
