Actually they did that with Aulie last year. He didn't suit up for any of the games, but got some coaching and to practice with the team, which may have helped propel him to a great season.

After tonight QC only has 2 games left so I don't know if they would sign Brodie just for a weekend. Maybe if they sneak into the playoffs I could see the flames signing Brodie to an ATO.

From what we've been hearing though, the d has been decimated by the injuries down there. Perhaps Negrin is enough to shore it up, but I thought they might want an extra warm body.
Also, seeing as how QC offence has looked anemic at times (apparently) perhaps a PP QB like Brodie might be of use to them.

Just the one goal for Backlund in an OT win for Kelowna ( to even the series at 2), but by the sounds of listening to the game he was everywhere. Had a Penalty Shot with about 5 to go but coudln't beat Pickard who robbed him twice in OT too.

I'm off to the Spitfires game tonight, looking forward to it.
Will let you know how Nemisz does tonight.
GO SPITS GO!

Awesome game tonight. Nemisz with 1 goal in the Spits 5-2 win in game 5 over the Whalers. Spits take a 3-2 series lead. Windsor outshot Plymouth 61-24.
Nemisz looked really good, had some nice hits was a real presence in the game.

Great time tonight, and finally got to see a winning game, hopefully our bad karma watching the Spits live is gone now.

Here's a picture from the Windsor Star of Nemisz during the game

Was just going to post that. It really stands out to me. I know they have swept through the first two rounds, but +17 is pretty damn impressive. Really interested in seeing how he does against the Hitmen. Should be a really good series.

They only credited Backlund with a goal.

False. 1 assist, and +3. Windsor/London should be long, exciting series.

late in the 3rd Backlund (3 points) and Grantham and Kelowna well up on Tri Cities and poised to advance

(edit: Kelowna wins. Backlund 2G (including a shorty) 1A. First star

in the Vancouver/ Spokane game (currently on shaw cable 10 I believe) , Wahl (1 assist) and the Chiefs up 1-0 on Bouma and the Giants

(edit: 2-2 after 3. Wahl with 2 points, Bouma 1)

looks like there will be 4 Flames prospects in round 3 in the W

Nice to see Flames prospects having big nights and stepping up in important games for their junior teams. Hopefully this junior playoff success will translate to the playoffs in the big league for the Flames in the future.

And I think that is understating it a bit.

All of those guys are not just players, they are the cornerstones of their teams success despite only one of them being a first round pick.

Only Grantham does not fit that perfectly (of Backlund, Aulie, Wahl, Bouma, and himself) but even with him, from what I have read, he is a major part of that team now.

Fantastic drafting.

Backlund, Aulie, Grantham, and either Wahl or Bouma in the WHL. Nemisz in the OHL.

Grantham has had a role change this year. He actually plays on the first PP with the big boys most of the time (moss-like) and has put away some timely goals in the regular season.
