At least you're subjected to a good division. I'm so sick of seeing NFC West games on TV up here.
Great to see the Chiefs doing good this year, totally my bandwagon AFC team this year. Love the stadium/atmosphere, love the unis/colours(obviously), love the style of football...that first round game against the Jets(if it stays that way) should be a war.

Should the Packers be able to win on Sunday, I wouldn't be surprised if the NFC Championship game doesn't end up being in New Orleans with the Packers and Saints going at it.
The Eagles facing the prospect of playing 3 games in 12 days could catch up to them. They've also been allowing quite a few points against on defence recently and teams are slowly figuring out ways to limit the damage Michael Vick can do. Green Bay is exactly the #6 seed that could go to Philly and knock them off.
The Saints are looking at a first round matchup that they should handle quite easily and than a trip to Chicago after that should Green Bay be the other team who advance. That may not be the best matchup for the Saints, but they certainly would be capable of winning that game.

The Packers are definitely a threat, they remind me a lot of the '09 Saints, at least they did at the start of the year before the injury parade. I've never seen a conference this wide open before, any of the playoff teams not named St. Louis/Seattle wouldn't stun me at all if they went to the SB.
I'm a little worried about heading into Chicago for a divisional matchup, they've had our number there the past few years. Snowy Soldier Field is not ideal conditions for a Southern, pass first team. If Chris Ivory isn't healthy and good to go for that, I will be very concerned. Gotta be able to move the ball on the ground in the playoffs.
Here's hoping the Panties can do us a favour next week, then the NFC can go through Bourbon Street for the playoffs again(though I'm not holding my breath).

Easy there fellas....I gotta love all the props you are giving the Packers and all, but they have to win a game yet this weekend...against an 11 win division rival at that. Still a ton of football to be played.

$10000 per inch? That's precedent setting.

Except for a possible civil suit against the NFL, Jets and Favre. Which I would expect since her lawyer said they were unhappy with the ruling.

That's brutal. First off, how could this take this long. Can they not figure out who owns the cell phone within about 5 minutes? The fact this took 3/4 of the season in and of itself is a joke.
I don't know if this is because he's Favre, or because he's white but this ruling is Colin Campbell inconsistent.

It has nothing to do with who owns the cellphone or anything like that. The fine is for not co-operating in a "timely fashion" apparently. he was cleared by the NFL of any wrong doing as far as the harrassment part of things....which I find as odd as anything if those texts and pictured were indeed his.
And because he is "white"?? What does that even mean?

here is a more detailed explanation...
Quote:
Forensic analysis failed to establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger, the league said.
Favre's punishment stems from Goodell's determination that he was "not candid in several respects during the investigation resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, Sterger and the NFL," the league said. The commissioner also told Favre that if he had found a violation of the league's workplace conduct policies, he would have imposed a "substantially higher level of discipline."
The NFL said its sole focus was on whether Favre violated workplace conduct policy, not to "make judgments about the appropriateness of personal relationships."
The league said its investigation dragged out because of difficulties in setting up interviews with "certain key individuals," the complication of retrieving and reviewing electronic records and Goodell's decision to meet with both Favre and Sterger before reaching a conclusion.

It means I wonder if he was African-American, would he have received a stiffer punishment. I think it's most likely because he was Favre.

Seriously? What would lead you to believe something like that? I have not seen anything "racial" in determining things like this in many years. The NFLPA wouldnt allow for it either without a whole lot of fanfare.
Certainly it seems the majority of guys that get in trouble are black, but then again the majority of the players are black, so that would just follow logic. On top of that, most suspensions are pre-determined with only those violating personal conduct issues up for review.
I mean the harshest suspension this last year was Roethlisbergers, and he is as cornbread as it gets.

Rumors have Charlie Weiss leaving KC to go to Florida to be the OC. Apparently the next for OC job in KC is Josh McDaniels.
As a Chiefs and Gator fan this would be GREAT!! Say what you want about Charlie at ND his offense was still good with all the restrictions of academics and being in Indiana. He knows how to coach up an offense, just not the whole team.

Well with Weiss leaving the Chiefs many believe Josh McDaniels will become the Chiefs offensive co-ordinator. He does have a really good relationship with Matt Cassel and was rumored to like him enough to try and get him from New England to replace Cutler. So from that standpoint it's good because that might be the most important relationship for any football team is the OC and QB. I just hope he doesn't abandon the run game like he did this past year in Denver.

Rumors are that McDaniels will be the new OC next year. I dont think he would abandon the run game when he actually has a run game. besides I don't think Haley would allow that.

A bit of a headscratcher in this week's point spread...
1/2 1:00 ETAt Baltimore-9.5Cincinnati
1/2 4:15 ETAt Green Bay-10Chicago
Weird to me that the Packers are bigger favorites aginst a far superior team. Im guessing Vegas thinks that Lovie will sit his guys early on...which i dont see at all. maybe once the game gets a big seperation one way or the other, but these two clubs hate one another and I just cant believe the Bears are willing to roll over for the Packers.

ESPN just reported that Elway has agreed to join the Broncos front office starting this week...and his first order of business is to recruit Jim Harbaugh to become head coach as he serves as honorary captain of the Stanford team for the Orange Bowl.
