If you want to see this in theatres on September 1, you better start wearing your damn mask today...
So, obviously...
Spoiler!
When she says "a song created by Preston and Logan", she's talking about their daughters and no one will figure that out until the very end of the movie.

The new Batman looks awesome. Apparently this movie has been officially removed from the DCEU and will be its own separate thing, similar to Joker. Since the current DCEU is a complete disaster (Wonder Woman being the lone exception), this is good news in my opinion.
I'm ok with Pattinson. Sure he's no Christian Bale, but I think he's a good enough actor to pull off the role. He also has a good jawline for the cowl, and at 6'1" he's a decent size for Batman.
Not to mention this movie has a pretty terrific supporting cast:
Jeffrey Wright- Gordon
Andy Serkis- Alfred
Paul Dano- the Riddler
Colin Farrell- the Penguin
John Turturro- Falcone

Wrong. This movie will be part of the DCEU through The Flash movie, which will draw heavily from The Flashpoint story line, essentially making every DC cinema product ever made technically 'canon' in the multiverse, including Pattison's Batman.
They will use it as a way to retcon the DCEU ala the Rebirth story line and pick and choose the elements they want in the 'main' universe moving forward.

Yeah, I'm willing to be convinced by a good actor, but Pattinson does not look like a Bruce Wayne to me.
Trailer looks great though.

While I haven't seen any of the Twilight movies back in the day, which may be where some people get their impression of Pattinson from, you have to watch all of this independent movies. The guy is a complete legit actor who can do accents, good and bad characters, and doesn't get typecast into anything in particular. I think your perception would change if you watch him in anything. It was a curious choice because he's not a beefed up guy like Bale, but given what they're doing with this where it may be the beginnings of his story, perhaps a built guy isn't needed. Anyway, in a dark and gritty feel Batman I think the guy has the potential as the best ever (and I thought Bale's was really solid).
Anyway, this trailer has the feel of Nolan's and Burton's versions - Nolan's being the chaotic scenes with large crowds, and Burton's dark underground feel. I'm curious why they took the Burton same set of characters? Secondly, what I didn't like was the perfect feel of something that shouldn't be perfect - ie: the guy's head wrapped in duct tape, or the lettering on the walls. It's a small thing, but if this is supposed to be believable, make them a bit realistic with runny dimmer imperfect lettering or pieces of tape out of place, respectively. That was a bit distracting, but I'm still looking forward to it because of Pattinson.

Well technically all the DC movies, and tv shows, were already made canon as part of one multiverse in the TV Crisis on Infinite Earths event.
Ezra Miller's Flash and the Burton universe both appeared on the tv show already.

Right, but that was only two examples, there is still a lot more for them to include to 'officially' make it all canon
The music choice has the same effect on this movie that Hurt did for Logan. Just nailed it.

I was skeptical, but that trailer with the brooding Something in the Way playing has fully caught my attention. Looking forward to it.
This is a bit tangential but the way movies and commercials have created a market for low tempo "reimaginings" of classic songs sux.
I realize it can be great (hurt by johnny cash) but it's hard for me to take it seriously when the dark slow brooding version of crocodile rock fades into the scene.
Just use an original composition every once in a while instead of sticking some half asleep singer at the piano and have them limp their way through a soulful rendition of dancing queen by Abba.
