Springer being hurt is exhausting to watch. He’s so good but so fragile

Wait and see what happens with Springer but not a good sign gripping his elbow on that hit, he needs some time off likely. Or its just something that won't be an issue.
Things that are great: Jays winning!
Things I don't like: Bo and George potentially being injured.

Jays make a move for Happ id Springer going to be out a bit? Can't be risking having Zimmer in the lineup

Longest of long shots here, but fun discussion fodder. Do you make an offer if you’re the Jays? Probably one of the few teams with prospect capital to get it done. Though, doubtful Angels want to ship Ohtani to an AL team IMO

I’d give up our top four for Ohtani.

Me too. It would be a tough one to swallow but I’d pull the trigger.
Window to win is right now. Maybe not precisely this season, but next year for sure.
Springer isn’t getting younger (as we’ve seen) and neither is Berrios.
We’d have a deadly top 3 with Manoah, Ohtani, and Gausman and could match up with any team in any series.
Moreno is a lock. Top prospect in baseball and plays the hardest position. That will be attractive for the Angels. Martinez and Groshans are great but we are deep at SS. Tiedemann looks like a great arm but pitchers are tough to project. How many Jays Pitching prospects other than Manoah (and Stroman) in recent years have done much of anything? Maybe I’m missing someone key but there certainly hasn’t been much.
Ohtani puts this club over the top. And would be a ton of fun for this fan base and country.

This is what should be top of mind for Rogers, instantly puts more fans in the stands, more viewers across the country, more jerseys, sponsorship opportunities. To me its a no brainer.

No mention of Kikuchi yet. Good game by him today. Baby steps.

Ohtani would be amazing but the big problem with him is he's DH so you're taking Kirk or Springer out of the line up a lot more.
Would still be amazing though.

Love Springer but getting used to him being hurt is getting boring. He's so good, but so fragile. If this team is going to make the playoffs you need to sit him for a while.

Yep, Jays need to acquire another outfielder and DFA Zimmer
Zimmer is really good defensively, however he has no offense value what so ever
I expect Springer to sit for a game or two....
However they need to upgrade the bench

When Springer is off an outfield of Gurriel-Tapia-Hernandez is still pretty good. As long as the infield is healthy I'd put Biggio in the outfield rather than Zimmer if one of the others needs a day off, he has played a couple of games there this season. Agreed that another outfielder who can hit woukd be a great addition, but bullpen help is still the most pressing need.
And I doubt it will happen, but i would give Anaheim whatever they want for Ohtani. Imagine adding an ace pitcher AND a top order bat? Plus Ohtani doesn't have to DH when he's not pitching, he does play in the outfield sometimes too which would alleviate the Springer/Zimmer problem.

Zimmer for Ohtani. How can the Angels say no?
