And how much did Bautista's years of arguing balls and strikes affect it? Some calls have been awful, but the effect of arguing now just entrenches these crappy umps in their idiocy because of the history.
The other night is a prime example. How much different might things have gone if it wasn't for the history with that ump?

Also true. Jays need to have cooler heads when it comes to less egregious calls, and the umps just need to be better
However, I still have no problem with EE exploding....he rarely complains, and the SO was ridiculous

i think you have to argue and if the umps make it worse you have to argue more and embarrass them. it may cost a few games but it's the only way it will change.
and the organization should speak up more and pay Gibbons fines.

Last 30 games he has hit .372 with and on base of .497 (!!!!).
Fan graphs WAR has him just behind Mike Trout, with a WAR of 4.5.
Top 10 in Home Runs.
Almost top 10 in RBI
4th in OPS.

Some Tulo love,
since returning from injury he's played 13 games batting .321 with 6 HRs and 14 RBIs
and a on base of nearly .500 over 30 games for donaldson is absolutely insane.
