Trevor Richards doing his best to ensure no team wants to trade for him.

The what went wrong conversations have already been going on and will continue to do so until opening day next season. But it is seriously baffling what Atkins has done to a very talented core and a seemingly blank checkbook. They are actually going to lose 90 games. Just insanity.

This is almost where you want them to pile on runs so a change is finally made.
Preferably a change at the top. Won't happen though.

KK weakly fouls back a total hit me slider. Then gets a hit off an infinitely tougher pitch to hit down and away.
Baseball...

And Turner weakly hits it into the ground again.

Only reason to tune in for the rest of the season will be to watch Vladdy. Dude really has been incredible since mid May.

The potential trade return for KK, JT, and Richards has been downgraded from a bag of balls to a single unwashed solo cup that was heavily used as a spittoon.
I wouldn’t trade Jano at this point. Teams aren’t usually willing to trade for catchers mid season and they might as well just accept a comp pick if they can’t re-sign him.

They for sure should trade Jansen, take the best offer and move forward.
I would think teams are willing to trade for catchers.
TSN posted a story last week that the cub's might have interest
One of the playoff contenders will have a injury, need more depth etc.

We all knew the issues probably were at the top with Atkins by opening day if the Jays didn't buck the trend early on in the season.
It was clear they didn't, sitting at .500 or less.
He compounded his mistake by not firing Schneider around the end of May. He was/is gone really unless the Jays would've won 2 or 3 rounds of playoffs, so why watch the team burn the season away slowly under a nice guy, players manager who can't get what he needs out of his players.
At least making the first change to show that you're trying...it may have given the team a new manager bump, baseball is a funny game and dynamic especially with all the moving parts, but a manger bump may have worked to get things started again, who knows.
If it didn't it would be where things are at today. Self preservation for Atkins by firing Schneider or not; if the Jays win Atkins looks good for making the call to fire early enough for the roster to bounce back...if they fail he takes the blame he was going to have to take anyway.
All around mismanaged season. Player wise they rode a guy like Richards into the ground, who was excellent for the first 70+ games...same with all the starting pitchers. They were pitching with the intensity of playoff games for 3 months because they could only give up 2 runs or less.with the crap offense, and now they are shells of the players they were 2 months ago, confidence wise.

Starting to feel like they will run it back for one last year with Bo and Vlad and probably already have a blank cheque written up for Soto, although after the Ohtani garbage last off season I will not allow myself to have even a glimmer of hope that he'd come to Toronto.
Can't really trade Bo now, his value must be at an all time low, plus he's dealing with that lingering calf issue.
