just noticed this.
Easily?? They need to go into New Orleans and beat the Saints and hope both the Packers lose to the Bears at home and Giants lose to the Redskins.
Longshot at best for the Bucs.

I was quite pleased with Tebow today. Yes I know the Texans' defence is atrocious, but he still made some great plays and led the team to a comeback win.

Win and in for Seattle.
Thanks to St. L, or maybe more to Singletary for messing up the 49'ers from Week 1 of the season.
Hasslebeck is hurt, already been announced that he won't practice all week, and Whitehurst looked like garbage today. But still comes down to one game. For a rebuilding Seattle team, that still has glaring holes, this would be a big boost going into next year. A loss, at home, would really hurt, given on how close they are.
No apologies here for the record, or the division...heard a stat that 3 times in 30 years since this playoff format was introduced, has a team won the division with .500 or worse.
Regardless, I think the Hasslebeck era will be over in Seattle after this year; its the only position Carroll didn't tinker with, but I think he will next year after all that's gone on this year, and how really key it is in the league to have the QB of the team be the leader that can rally the troops.
Anyways, its all there for them, to make it a great unexpected season, or a disappointing season.

No need for a one-dimensional fat back when you can get a guy who actually can help the team.
Oh thats right after throwing another cheap shot punch Tennessee just put him on waivers didn't kick him off the team. They "really" wanted him after showing again what a piece of crap he is.
|
Haha ok then, 420 less yards, about 2 ypc less, two less tds, and less 20+ and 40+ yard runs. About the only stat where Best wins is in the fumble department.
Also didn't Jeff Fisher come out publicly and say he regrets releasing Blount?

Looking at the NFC playoff scenario I just realized that the Packers "could" finish with the 5th seed (and play St. Louis in round 1) if they beat the Bears on Sunday and New Orleans loses their last 2 games against Atlanta and Tampa (tie break would come down to strength of victory i think)...unlikely of course but something to hope for beyond beating Chicago to get in.

The NFL has re-worked next Sundays schedule. Predictably NBC has flexed the Seattle/St Louis game to Sunday night and they moved four 1 PM EST games to 4PM.

That he has argueably the best arm in the NFL and that when his head is right, he can be one of the best Quarterbacks in the game?
Yeah we all know about Cutler

Colts just find a way top win and that Manning run had to be the highlight of this season for me. My god does he ever look bad scrambling outside of the pocket. Reasons to be optimistic when the Colts offensive line plays that strong and the running game is effective again.
Once again the Chargers show so much promise...

Really?
Honest question...is he top 10 in any category in the league other than getting sacked?

I actually give Mike Martz a fair bit of credit as he's altered his play calling to a point where the Bears run as much or more than they throw, and he's improved the protection for Cutler. Cutler does have a strong arm and a fair bit of athletic ability, but he's got too much of the Brett Farve risk taker in him, and makes a lot of boneheaded descisions. But the Bears are moving him around so that when he's throwing down the field he's got time, and when he doesn't have time he's getting rid of the ball much quicker. He's a lot better than Grossman, and they got to a Superbowl with that guy.
A QB who is developing really nicely but gets little fanfare is Josh Freeman. He completely shredded the Seahawks yesterday like they were the USC Scout defence. Made all the reads, changed the plays, stepped up away from pressure. He was pretty much perfect in his play yesterday. If Andrew Luck does come out and ends up in Carolina, that NFC South is going to be one beast of a Division as Brees, Ryan, and Freeman are 3 of the best QB's in the NFC.

True, most of this altering came after the Seahawks game where Seattle was all over Cutler and Chicago was really never in that game.
That said, its still up to Cutler having to make those decisions with the ball, something he still has problems with. Look at the Redskins game where he threw what, 5 INT's? He reminds me of a bit bigger and more atheltic Hasslebeck from 2004-ish...all the tools, but does he have the brains and ability to learn from his mistakes? Can he keep his emotions in check, inso far as when things take a turn for a worse in a game, does he then start to get away from the game plan the coaches have for him, and force things as opposed to keeping a level head and try and chip away? Hasslebeck still does this, and as the team around him has decline in the past 5 years, so has his play, not coincidentally.
Even though the Bears have improved since that Seattle game, they don't have the defence they did with the Grossman team, which means they rely on Cutler even more. Has he really matured, or is all the buildup of pressure of his first playoff game going to revert him into the chucker that made him expendable in Denver and has flared up more than once this season?

While you have a point that the defense isn't what it once was in 2004, but to say that they lean on Cutler is plain incorrect.
The defense of the Bears is still their strong point and they lean on it. this became apparent once we signed Peppers.
What it comes down to, is people are just to stubborn to admit when they are wrong. Cutler will continue to get heat for his style of play, much like Favre did. What it comes down to, is if he can get some time in the pocket he can be as effective as any quarterback not named Brady or Manning.
I give full credit to the Lovie and Jerry Angelo for hiring Martz, as he is the perfect fit for the Cutler's style of play

Offence looking way too one dimensional again, man do we miss Ivory. I wish Payton would give Julius Jones some carries if he doesn't trust Reggie/PT. He looked good when both were out.
D looking great so far though. Keeping Turner in check so far. (knock on wood)
