You can add Stacey Fung, Peter Polansky, and Adil Shamasdin to the Canadian team competing at the 2024 version of the United Cup. They will be joining Felix and Leylah. All the teams competing can be found below.

I think you need a subscription to WTATV to watch the tennis from Nanchang this week. Speaking of Leylah, she was forced to play 2 matches within approximately a 8 hour time frame due to rain washing out the prior's day play and she went 2-for-2 and finds herself in the semi-finals. She will take on her finals opponent from last week Katarina Siniakova.
/Leylah now up to #33 in the live rankings, she was in the 70's just a few weeks ago, it's been a fine run of play.

Not as good news for Felix however as he loses to Marcos Giron 6-1 6-4. I watched the first set before going to sleep last night and FAA was being bullied all over the court which is a rare sight.

I think I'm going to jump on the Shintaro Mochizuki bandwagon while there's still room.

Shintaro won the boys Wimby title in 2019 when he was the ripe old age of 16.

Leylah's eight match winning streak comes to an end at the hands of Siniakova...Almost in a position to be seeded at the Aussie Open.

Really good match between Oikos and Fils just now finishes with the 19 year old Frenchman advancing to the final on Sunday. 7-6 7-6 over Tsitsipas and Arthur will take on Bublik looking for his second ATP title.

2023 has been a great year for Katherine, I hope she can continue her fine play into 2024. She currently sits at #141 in the live rankings (not far off her career high of #136)

It should be noted that Milos has withdrawn from the tourney going on in Basel this week. Whether he is trying to save himself for Davis Cup play or he's truly still recovering from injury is unknown at this point. He might just end up playing the Shapo role of cheerleader when the Davis Cup Finals start in mid November.

Love that the big guy is playing Davis Cup, he is an excellent doubles player with that massive serve. Would love to see him and Vasek turn back the clock and clinch the title with a big doubles victory

Battle of the 1HBHs coming up in Vienna as Oikos takes on Dominic Thiem. Stef will likely win, but maybe the home crowd can inspire Domi.

Thiem played a pretty good match today, but just couldn't win enough of the big points. Was up 4-2 in the opening set tie-break, but Stef took it 7-5. Should have broken Stef early in set 2, couldn't do it and then as usually happens Stef broke in the very next game. 7-6 6-4 to the Greek. I think Domi is getting tired of the moral victories.
