How are the line-ups at Chick-fil-A these days?

Pretty sure the first thing I bought at Radio Shack was LEDs, resistors and wire. First thing I remember as a kid anyway.

If I'd been in school these days I'd have been accused of bringing a bomb to school.

Personally I am waiting for a couple more months before I make an attempt there again. Sitting in a massive lineup for fast food is not high on my list of priorities.

Maybe weekday daytime would be a good approach if you are really wanting to try it.

Drove by saturday around 7:30 and it was lined up to the edge of the parking lot still.

Precisely. The whole point of it is that its supposed to be fast! If it takes forever I'll go elsewhere and get an actually good chicken sandwich.

You know...a sandwich made of something that I can be more readily convinced was, once upon a time, an actual chicken.

I drove by two days ago and the line up was on the right lane of mcleod trail like when it opened. I went when there was about 15 less cars than that and it took about 1.5 hours to get my food. I'm stunned it's still this bad.

I went there around 1045-11am (ie. just after it opened, pre lunch rush) on a random weekday couple of weeks ago, and there was no line up on McLeod yet at that time. I walked in instead of doing drive through...the wait inside was about 5 minutes to get to the front of the line, and 10 minutes to get the food. All pretty reasonable considering.

The sandwich I had was really good...pretty much inline with what I've had in the US, which isn't always the case with American chains setting up shop in Canada.

I feel bad for all the business around there though, everyone must be taking up the parking spots for their own customers and probably preventing them from even trying to go there.

I went to Adrenaline Source for Sports to pick up some equipment for my kid.. The parking lot was full of people sitting in their cars eating that crap and I could not find any parking. I think they need to figure out a way to enforce this bull crap.

It took many months for the Popeyes on 17th Ave SE to calm down.

I am NOT looking forward to when they finish the Chick-fil-A in East Hills.. traffic around there can already be a pain sometimes.

I went last Friday with my son at 9:30pm. Drive-through was backed up with numerous cars waiting on orders. We went inside and stood in a line starting from the interior doors. It took about 10 minutes to order and another 8 to get our food at the table. When we left, just after 10pm, the drive-through and line inside looked the same as when we arrived.

And that's kind of the takeaway. Most people are lazy, so a modicum of effort beyond the baseline, and you can get things considerably faster.

This happens to me whenever I go to A&W, but it’s more like walk to the counter immediately and order, walking out with food 3 minutes later. Meanwhile the car that was #6 in line is now #4.

The laziness of people who use drive-thru’s never ceases to astonish me. Taking an extra 10+ minutes out of your life to avoid the effort of walking 10 meters is a baffling tradeoff.

Not sure it’s lazy as much as:
1) don’t want to be seen in the place
2) do not want to go in and see the humanity that is residing within

Also if you have small kids it can be better for your sanity/stress levels to wait for the drive thru instead of taking them inside.

Fair enough. I think the last time I used a drive-thru was when the kids were still little.

I don't go often, but on the rare instance that I have gone inside to the Tim Hortons near me, it seems that drive through gets most of their attention.

No line inside, yet I stood there like a numpty while they scurried around to keep the drive-thru line moving. So while I agree that walking a few steps to fetch my food is usually quicker, it isn't always the case.

The easiest solution is just not going to that Tim Hortons... or any of them.
