She is talking about Federal and Provincial debt combined. When electing a federal government, look at federal debt levels.
Yes but (and correct me if I'm wrong): didn't Martin, in reducing the federal debt, put the burden of that reduction of transfer to the provinces? So while federal debt dropped significantly, provincial debt rose just as significantly.
I may mis-remember, but I don't think so.

The provincial debt-to-GDP ratio declined a little bit during the last period of Liberal government, but has risen during the Harper government faster than federal debt has. This chart shows all government debt compared to federal debt:

Yea apparently sign vandalism is happening a lot here in Calgary too, though maybe not directly linked to official campaign workers. In any case these two have already left the campaign. They'll likely face charges is my guess after the election.
Indulge me on this, but why should it be a bigger deal? Isn't it just a bunch of idiot volunteers doing something that might be illegal, but likely not at the direction of their campaign, and which is unlikely to have any material effect on the race?
Maybe I'm naive, but it's not as though the CPC's new strategy is "vandalize all the signs."
I saw a Joan Crockatt sign with a mustache drawn on it the other day. Is that also a big deal?
Did anyone ever make a decision based on placement or number of signs?
It has been a huge deal in influences my kids, but considering they are 8,7 and 5 I am not sure it will have a big impact in the election.
Unless there is proof that the volunteers were told to do it by someone from the party or the Candidate I can't see this being much of an issue that should change anyones opinion on who to vote or not vote for.
Conrad Black: Stephen Harper did many great things for this country, but he hung on to power a little too long http://natpo.st/1OKGAc9
Wow, I definitely did not see this coming from Black. Did he and Harper have a falling out over something? The headline doesn't do the editorial justice; Conrad Black absolutely rips Harper to shreds in this piece.

In the video they seem to claim it's there job to tear down signs.

That article isn't anywhere to be seen on the post front page, their top 3 stories are pro harper editorials. Interesting read and I think that coming from Conrad Black that article means a lot.
I used to feel bad for postmedia but after this week and the admission from the ottawa citizen editor that they were told to write pro harper endorsements by ownership, they can go out of business for all i care.
The real embarassment has been the editors... Lending your name to this boondoggle and actually writing the "opinion" columns like trained seals.
At least represent them for what they are... The views of the post owners, not the journalists or their readership.
Funniest thing about it all is how Harper is so paranoid that the media has a huge lw bias, and in his death throes it's the national newspaper conglomerate that are trying to prop him up.
Maybe I missed some, but the only endorsements I've seen are editorials - which are opinion pieces, and as such, irrelevant.
And it matters not to me whose opinion they are... it's still pretty much worthless.
I do care when ownership forces the endorsement and buries any divergent opinions, or pulls them altogether. What happened with Andrew Coyne"s column? Any updates from Canadaland?
This whole "Team Up With Team Ford" thing seems kind of strange to me. Not the whole 'compromise my integrity for a few votes', but doing it for so few.
Wouldn't anyone who can be influenced by the Fords already be voting Conservative anyway? How many votes can there be to get?
To me the newspapers owned by Postmedia have stooped to an all time low this weekend. First the Coyne issue with the National Post is appalling. When journalists are obviously being muzzled its just not right. Today though the papers sunk to a low of all lows when the let the CPC buy the front page for an advertisement. Frankly, when you start selling the first page as an ad you have abandoned any credibility as journalists and are just printing brochures for people.
I would cancel a subscription to them if I could...but that would require having one to begin with. I get the G&M, and while they put out their ridiculous endorsement, I don't care about that as much. Oh and the Sun went full court press against the Liberals today. I know that Dion quoted one of the columns, but someone on twitter sent out a picture and it was two full pages of columns all against Trudeau. Just a rag.

They are just blustering as they are walking away from a confrontation after getting busted stomping on signs. I highly doubt the campaign is paying them to vandalize signs. I mean, I could be wrong, but I think this is just a few idiots, and every campaign has them.
