IMO, he has not looked the same since the broken leg.
I think he'll be a rarity to make it to UFA status as a deal still has not been done.

I am campaigning to change RNH to "The Tenderness." Your help is much appreciated.
The Tenderness is the greatest nickname for a hated rival's #1 overall draft pick I've ever seen, and makes me laugh whenever I read it.

He's the poster boy for a lot of things, one of the failed rebuilds being only one of those things.

if Oilers need to include RNH or Eberle in trade talks to get a top 4 d-man or more size up front they will consider it
no specific time line for Chiarelli - may linger to draft
LeBrun: RNH and Eberle represent the failed rebuild era. moving them via trade will be a symbolic cutting of the cord and help establish a new culture
|
Which was itself the rebuild of a rebuild. And now the Oilers are rebuilding that rebuild. It makes my head swim.

If bishop makes it to UFA, which other teams will be looking for a goalie this summer ? Could we make a real run at him ?

Bishop still has 1 more year after this season on his contract.

You are correct. I'm not sure why I thought he was UFA this season. Oh well... My bad.

If they are willing to take a bad contract with it, yes. He plays similar to Gillies from what I've heard and can help his development in his last year of the contract should Gillies be ready by then.

Some commentary on the PGT about the Bernier on waivers situation. Ideally the Leafs are hoping that someone picks him up and they can run with Reimer. If he passes, which he likely will....
Hiller for Bernier might not be bad for both sides. Bernier is on the books for next year, and Hiller is UFA, but their salaries are almost a wash yearly.
Toronto clears space for next year.
Calgary has one goalie under contract for next year, in Bernier. He is potentially better than Hiller.
Downside is we may win more games, if that is a downside, but with the new lottery system, being bottom 3 doesn't hold as many Edmonton points as it used to.

One thing I read into Friedman's comments was that the Leafs don't want to be rid of him. But if he can't play for Babcock, he's SOL.

I still stand by Dougie + Hudler for Hamonic + Strome. Isles - take it or leave it
Dougie For Hamonic straight up - F no!
I'll take Dougie any day. In my top 4(3)

RNH has been a train wreck this year. Not a chance they can get Jones for him.

Maybe not Jones for RNH but what about for The Tenderness?
