It is pretty good, was a bit better before Covid but long term should be fine.

Anyone have a handle on how many military votes there would be for Georgia? I believe those haven't come in yet.

I thought Republicans were distancing themselves from Trump leaving only Hannity and Igraham to make the case. Why would Cruz do this? Trump has bullied him from day one.

This is less clear. Georgia's election administrator had a press conference earlier today and gave two metrics.
First, there were 17,000 or so provisional and military ballots that have been returned to vote counters. Are those included in the count so far? That's not clear. It sounded like they were being counted along with all of the rest, but he wasn't 100% clear.
Second, there were about 8900 ballots sent out to military and others that hadn't been returned yet, but could legally still be returned by tomorrow. How many ultimately come back by then is obviously unknowable. Could be half, could be a couple hundred. I would think it would be closer to the latter than the former. But this alone would make it impossible for the networks to actually call Georgia for Biden tonight, even though it looks like Biden will get the lead there shortly.

If I wanted to stream mindless election chatter (just audio, not video), anybody have a suggestion?
Actually I would prefer if it wasn't completely mindless, but I've got a menial task to do tonight and I'd like some background noise that is occasionally interesting.

He's spineless and weak. He's got nowhere to go but continue on with the Trump train wreck. He's going down with the ship.

It actually makes sense for Cruz to be on the Trump train. He's not up for re-election for another 4 years.
If Trump wins, he's at the top of the food chain.
If he loses, he has 4 years to make up for it, and he gets to do it with his name constantly in the media.
Win-Win.

Recounts are typically only an issue if there are a large number of "rejected" ballots that get a second look, such as in the case of Florida with Bush/Gore. Florida polls were rejecting Gore votes willy nilly, but when they did the recount (which of course was moot at that point), a lot of those ballots ended up counting.
Republicans worry about this sort of thing because they actually pulled it off before, now they project that onto everyone else.

Thanks. That's what I recall hearing too. It wasn't really clear to me if they were part of this...but at 99% now there would only be 24-28000 left so they must be? Or the media have the numbers wrong which wouldn't surprise me.

538 has a new podcast out tonight that I will listen to later, I enjoy their podcasts.
Though the only problem with political podcasts I find is how quickly they can go out of date during times like this.
