They outshot the Oilers 2-1. Markstrom is just terrible. If that is the Canucks care free, then the Oilers should be in the ECHL.

I'm looking at tonight's game as a win-win.
If we lose, we probably get the 4th pick so that's a win.
And if we win, we finish the season on the high and make sure Vancouver's sad sack season finishes on a low. Plus a confidence builder for Johnny (and Bill if he plays) for your first NHL game to be an away win.

I hope you're right but I would be floored if anyone passed on one of the top 3 Ekblad, Reinhart, or Bennett for Draisaitl. My crystal ball says we'll have a choice between Dal Colle and Draisaitl if we land at 4th pick. By the sounds of it we might take the same player regardless of 4 or 5 pick which is all the more reason to slam the cansucks tonight.

Thing is lots of people were floored when Seth Jones fell to fourth last draft. Just takes one team to take a liking to Draisaitl or Dal Colle and the whole equation changes.

I see your point but I just don't see Draisaitl overcoming the Ekblad. If it happens Its only good news for us assuming the stars fall in the right place tonight.

If post-lottery the Panthers select before Oilers, there's a very strong chance that they take Ekblad and the Oilers take Draisaitl.
Letting one of the Samwise Gamgees fall into our laps.

It's not likely that draisaitl passes ekblad. Can see Edm taking draisaitl over Bennett though given their need for a C with size.

If things go well and we pick 4th and Buffalo takes Bennett, Florida takes Ehlers, and Edmonton takes Draisaitl. Except for Buffalo these are rumoured possibilities, so we could get our choice of Ekblad or Reinhart. How would that feel.

If the Flames do win the lottery you'd have to think that Ekblad / Bennett would be about equal in terms of organizational need, but because Ekblad comes with the bonus of trolling the Oilers, I'd have to predict Ekblad.

If the Oilers are high on Leon then thats great.

3. Edm - Leon
4. Cal - Sam
Of course too many ifs in this.
-if we lose to nucks tonite
-if isles beat sabres tonite

If Flordia really does like Ehlers it seems pretty stupid of them not to try to really move down to 5/6/7 to get him and pick something else up.
I can't see how they pass on Ekblad if he is there but if Ehlers is truly the guy they want you would think Calgary especailly is a team they could deal with and still get Ehlers at 4/5. I would think Carolina at 6 would love to get Ekblad considering the garbage they are throwing out on defense and already having a decent top 6 base up front with the Staals, Skinner, Semin.
