Straightforward rock and roll is in very short supply in the 21st century, so don't get it twisted when I say that The Hold Steady is one of the best rock and roll bands of this century. Nobody can sing about drugs and alcohol and the state of the youth like this band.

Okay, I'm an ####### because in my previous post I said The Hold Steady were one of the best rock bands of the 21st century.

Pardon me, but perhaps this is the best rock band of the 21st century (so far)

This has likely been posted somewhere on this board considering where it was filmed, but figured I would share it anyway why not. Maybe someone hasn't seen it yet.

I told y'all I was going to be listening to this album all month.

Here's a fan video of the iconic "Clap Hands".

I watched that Billy Joel 2 part documentary, mostly because he lives down here now and his kids are in the same class as my kids.

And yet, I was enthralled with his career. He really is a special talent, taught only by ear, no formal training.

Here's a fun video to celebrate him. A Capella with his bandmates in some rock arena during his heyday.

I don't care what Billy Joel says this song is a banger

I'm loving this way too much. The artist is called ClassicFi.. classical tunes simplified / made accessible while adding a kick-drum and bass licks, with random pianos. Super chill.. I'm listening on spotify but seems he has a lot of tracks on youtube.

I'll try to post some of my favourites - this was just a random selection

I was listening to a podcast and something one of the hosts said reminded me of "Here Comes the Regular" by The Replacements.
