Both Courtney's and Gian-Carlo. There are lots of candidates for worst Councillor/biggest idiot but I think Carra probably tops the list.

Thank god. Honestly wouldn't mind if the rule was they charge for the bag every time without asking.
But just the small hassle of them asking and sometimes they would forget and so would I then at the next window they hand you the food with no bag and I'd tell them I need a bag then they'd say "next time please ask for a bag" then I'd say just charge me for the bag.
It was a hassle all around and a waste of time. Like paper straws for my plastic cup.

Yes, that’s the best test of good policy. Can people tolerate it? Can they survive?

We been actually asked at Cluck n Cleaver and Inglewood Drive Inn when getting take out.
From the sound of it, it was good for some small businesses.

Well, sure people adapt. But to what end? What measurable good came from the irritation and annoyance?

Why didn’t council just put in place a paper bag mandate? Was too easy and made sense?

Except liquor stores. The guy who owns the local one was "I'm gonna just keep buying them until someone says something"

Dude...I can shake The Chairman and hear something inside of it. There is something in there, it may just be sand...but for why? The thing is made of Bronze...its not like it needs additional weight.
Or it might be storage for Bolivian Marching Powder. Who is to say? Only The Chairman knows...

I’m not sure which was more ridiculous, the policy itself or over the top meltdowns people were having over paying 15 cents more for their Big Mac meal.
Either way I’m glad it’s over.
No idea how they came to the conclusion that giving restaurants an extra 15 cents per takeout order was going to somehow help the environment. I think people would have been far less annoyed by the charge had they just made it an additional tax instead and put the revenue generated from it towards projects that actually help the environment.

It was ridiculous from the beginning, how a group of people got together and decided this was a good idea in the first place is hilarious to me.

It probably came from administration. There appear to be a few environmentalists there that pull the strings. They've found the proverbial pot of gold with the current City Council.
