Technically not wrong... his full name is Justin Pierre James Trudeau. Of course it's only technically and CNN just couldn't put the five seconds in to make sure they get the name right.
As much as I don't like all of the Trudeau Government's policies and politics, I feel as though he does a very good job representing ALL Canadians in the world eye. Trudeau's biggest issue at home is the massive size and differences among regional interests within Canada. On the world stage, and in the public eye, Trudeau is generally good but not usually as impressive as he was today.
But Trump is out of his league with Trudeau. This conference made that abundantly clear.

I don't take too much out of this meeting of leaders because all of the real work gets done at a ministerial level.
For Justin this was about looking leaderlike and to stem the bleeding.
For Trump this was to make him look like a reasonable guy with a friendly country. After a rough start in terms of international interaction, he can point to positive strides with Canada and Japan.
At a ministers level I expect things to be a little more strident.
I'm still convinced that the US is going to want Canada to significantly increase its defense spending. I would also expect that America will encourage Canada to increase their border security as well as Trump strikes me as a guy that believes the booga booga story of terrorists coming through Canada to the US.
I would also think that the frame work will be laid to reopen NAFTA and to reassure Canada that the American's don't want to harm the Canadian economy but the States will want to increase manufacturing of American products in America using American goods and resources.
What does Canada want?
Not much. I know they're looking for US direction in terms of peacekeeping. I would assume that they're concerned about what America is doing in terms of business tax rates and a buy American first program in the states. They'll probably bring up concerns about America's refugee program and immigration rule changes especially considering that we're starting to see refugee's coming into Canada from the US.

"See? I told you. Totally normal, normal sized hands." "Um, yeah, I definitely see what you mean there..."

Mar-a-Lago membership went from $100k to $200k when Trump became president, and he's going back there for a 3rd weekend in a row this weekend.
And I just heard, Fareed Zakaria CNN, that SCROTUS doesn't own Mar-a-lago. It's a private club, that ANYONE with enough cheddar, can get a membership too. And they'd have legal access to pretty much anywhere on the compound. Lol.
I thought the meeting and presser went well. Hard to fault what Trudeau said, thought he struck a good balance. Trump went off the rails a bit, but that's normal I guess. Sounds like trade will be fine overall.

I appreciate that Trudeau stayed firm on our convictions as Canadians despite them being in contrast with the views of Americans.

I would consider it a massive win for Canada if the Trump administration wanted increased military spending in exchange for favorable trade deals, including full Keystone approval and help with the other export issues we face.
In fact, I'd throw it out there as something we could do. Politically, Trudeau won't face much backlash because hey, we have to appease the US somehow, and economically it would be a total win.
Several key cabinet ministers are also part of Canada's Washington delegation: Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale, Transport Minister Marc Garneau and Finance Minister Bill Morneau.
That is one hell of a cabinet staff compared to the schlubs Trump has.

Nice to see Trudeau easily jumping from fluent English and French and Donald matching him with his fluent use of English and authentic frontier gibberish.
