I've seen numerous reports on this kid, and it seems his height, weight, and his shot fluctuates. Can you shed some light on whether or not he is a right or left handed shot?

I think Ramo shores up #1 job and brings us up to 15-20th. total guess, but i feel two years bottom 4-6 will be all the sucking we need before being good enough to be mediocre haha.

I believe there's roughly a 9% chance we win it. What more is there to believe?

I agree. The bottom teams right now Buffalo will be bad really bad next year. Islanders are a better team than the standings show, Tavares hurt don't help them. Edmonton, well...... anywhere from 29-22 in the league. Florida will be better with Bobby Lou in net. Vancouver will push hard to rebound from this disaster year and just miss the playoffs. That leaves us bottom 4 again

Didn't this guy end up with an ECHL contract? Doesn't seem like NHL teams think much of him.

Carolina is going to blow it up this off season. They'll blow harder than a stressed out Baluga whale. Don't count on Vancouver to do much better next season. The pacific division is really exposing them.
Doubt there'll be much improvement from Buffalo. And then there is Edmonton.....who the hell knows how that circus is going to shake down next season.
At worst I predict the Flames get the sixth or seven overall pick. Even then. depending on roster movements and who makes the team....
Bottom line for me is, The Flames cannot out suck enough teams every year to get these prized prospects. predict a swarm of Flames fans being extremely upset at five or six other teams that just suck or will tank.

Yeah, if the rumours of the Canes selloff are true, Buffalo and Carolina for sure finish below us. You can never count out the Panthers or Islanders. We'll be worse, but that doesn't guarantee our pick will be worse. I predict 4 or 5 again.

I just think there's going to be the typical sophomore slump from some new players. Ramo might not be as hot playing a full year. We still don't know who is backup is going to be. We'll be losing our highest goal scorer, and who knows if we'll move out other vets.
This year was a great emotional "we'll show 'em", but I'm expecting that to slip back a bit next year.

The one thing that seems to be a constant with Burke when he's picking forwards in the top 15 is that he values skill over everything else. We've seen him take smaller passive forwards like Kadri, and the Sedins. There hasn't been a single "big guy" with lesser skill taken by him when there's a good skill guy available.
Considering that we're picking in the top 5 most likely, we will probably be choosing one of the higher end skilled forwards (Dal Colle/Draisaitl/Reinhart/Bennett) over any one else.

Yeah, I think Carolina is going to be Buffalo-terrible. Oilers could well be worse than they were this year.
I think the Jets move Kane and maybe Buff. If the return is young, they could be lottery-bad as well.
I doubt the Nucks are in the mix, personally - I think they are a bubble team next year.
Florida might be a bit better. Islanders should be better if they can get a goalie.
I am in the next-year-will-be-tougher camp, but the flip side is that Burke probably goes hard this summer. We could see some incoming help. And if any of the young guys surprise (Baertschi, Gaudreau, maybe Granlund or whoever we get in the draft), there is certainly a chance that we are a bubble team.

Agostino
Ferland
We only really have Poirier on the right side. Then Eddy and Harrison.
|
1. You don't draft by position unless the players are so close it's a pick em. We're not turning down a LW that we have rated the highest just because of our depth there. Just like we won't turn down a centre even though that is arguably our deepest position.
2. A lot of wingers can play their opposite wing (like Poirier, Hudler, Bertuzzi, etc.) We can definitely move some of these LW to RW if we need or just trade one or two of the LW in a package deal to get an impact player at a position we need.
3. We have almost nobody (or nobody) with the size/skill combo that Dal Colle and Ritchie have.

Well everything came up roses for the Flames tonight. First three picks are set and the order couldn't have gone better. Buffalo will take either Bennett or Reinhart, Florida likely grabs Ekblad forcing Edmonton to go with Draisaitl.
If things can manage to go right tomorrow and in the lottery, one of Bennett or Reinhart will be a Flame.

Perfect results tonight, like previous posters said.
Our chances of getting Bennett have greatly increased. (Even possibly Reinhart). I hate losing to Vancouver, but won't mind a shootout loss if NYI beats Buffalo. Gotta get that 4th pick.

Ideal result for me tomorrow: Flames get Johnny his first goal and then start taking penalties for roughing and boarding on purpose until the Canucks start scoring on the man advantages. Finish with regulation loss. CP is jubilant.

^ Honestly wouldn't mind at all.
To see Johnny pot one would make the result pretty much irrelevant. That alone would have Flames fans more pumped than if we squeaked out a win against a pretty care free Canucks team (I say this given the effort they put out tonight..lol).
