Panama won 3-2 so Canada cannot clinch on Wednesday. Boo.

With Mexico, US, and Panama all playing each other, a win by Canada has to make it VERY close to clinching.

Either there’s ties in those games, or one team comes out with zero points in their two games in that set.

Costa Rica not out of it yet. That was a big point for them. They get Jamaica next while Panama goes to Mexico.

Could actually be interesting for the US if Panama can get a result at Mexico.

US has a tough final window. Away to Mexico, home vs Panama, away to Costa Rica

Yes, it’s counting a ~75% chance of the 4th place team beating (likely) New Zealand.

USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter -- We dominated Canada despite World Cup qualifying loss

Quote:
"I think it was an entire team effort that was outstanding," Berhalter said. "We asked them to be dominant, we asked them to embrace the conditions, embrace the physicality of going and I think we did that and more.

"It's hard for me to remember a performance away from home this dominant without getting a result."
Quote:
"They couldn't handle our physicality. That's plain and simple," Berhalter said. "We were running them all over the pitch and when you look at duels won, when you look at our pressing -- they had a very, very hard time dealing with what we were giving them."

Borjan, not tipping that ball over the bar, but retaining possession and parrying it clear of his post, is absolutely world class goal keeping.

Seems a bit disingenuous for Berhalter to claim this is the most dominant away match they’ve played when 83 minutes were spent trying to equalize.

The states played like a team of individuals and had zero idea of how to break down a defence (recurring theme for them). I thought they didn’t look like they wanted to engage in a lot of the duels with the Canadians, didn’t have the same fight. Was it pretty from Canada, no, but man they were organized and calm at the back. Johnston kept Pulisic in his pocket all match, Pulisic had about the same impact on the match as Phonzie did. Adekugbe bossed his side of the field

Can’t say enough about this group as a whole. Unbelievable
