My post was sarcasm, but honestly with more teams likely interested if Kadri is open to being moved all of a sudden.. there's bound to be 10x better deal's elsewhere.
Outside of Knies there's nothing I'd want from Toronto.

Too bad for them that they don’t have anything of value they’d trade, then.

Yeah if Kadri is open to moving I’m open to trading him but Toronto just has a bunch of ‘meh’ pieces to move that I’m not really jazzed by this news.
If Tre wants him that badly, though, maybe he’ll make a dumb move and pay out the nose for him. Extremely doubtful they’d move Knies but who knows what they would consider moving that would be enough value.

More like too bad for us if it's the only destination Kadri would entertain.

I'd imagine Roy may be part of the deal?
Who does Buffalo want from the Leafs? Robertson?
Kadri for Roy + Robertson + Unprotected 1st 2028
Robertson + Pospisil + Mews + Bean
for
Byram + Samuelsson

Leafs aren't trading Knies for Kadri + Ras to be honest.

It sounds like Toronto is the only team Kadri would even consider waiving for. Even if the return is medium or even terrible, the big picture is what matters. Kadri would leave a huge hole in our lineup, which would make the odds of us drafting in the top 10 almost a certainty, especially when you factor in Andersson's departure as well. Increases our chances at McKenna

I'd include Zary in a Kadri deal if Knies was coming back. Likely still not enough. Toronto is a bad trading partner right now.

I know it's a long ways away, but I think the Leafs 2028 1st round pick would have sneaky value.
but I don't think the Leafs would would trade it if they are already out 26 and 27.
(just stupid moves by Treliving/Dubas)

Unless it's to trade more assets down the road.
Kadri for Robertson, Roy, 2027 2nd and 3rd round pick, 2026 3rd round pick.
Flames then retain salary on Roy and trade him for at least a 2nd round pick.
Be kadri for Robertson and x2 seconds and x2 third round picks.

Toronto just sucks as a trading partner. They have nothing of interest.

It will be interesting to see what Knies does without Marner. The Leafs just lost their best offensive forward.

Here are the pieces I could see Conroy having interest in:
Roy - Just acquired by the Leafs but the big RH center that Conroy covets
Benoit - Reminds me a bit of Pachal but on the LH side
Cowan - Scoring Winger
Danford - Leafs 2024 1st rounder, RH dman
Picks - 2028 1st, 2027 2nd

Dealing Kadri may make Ras more interested in moving out early if he doesn't want to eat more minuses.
I'd rather get unprotected 1sts before the season starts (or even lightly protected ones) than guaranteed late 1sts at the deadline. Some teams can fall off....at least there's a chance (aka, Rangers, Bruins, Canucks).

Plus a healthy contingent on the site had Kadri as untradeable and the last half of his contract an albatross.
This could mean a few things ... but I wonder if Conroy approached him and said we are moving Ras, the team won't be as good, what are you thinking?
I think Conroy had himself a bottom ten team built last year and was as surprised as anyone that culture and work ethic dragged them away from the plan.
Maybe he's going to subtly make damn sure that doesn't happen again.

Cowan is not a C prospect. His value is around a late 1st
A bunch of teams were in on Laughton at the deadline, and I doubt the Leafs were the only one offering a 1st for him. He’s been a good #3 C for most of his career. If he plays like he did with the Flyers, and with a 1.5 mil cap hit, there will be no shortage of playoff teams willing to move a 2nd for him at the deadline.
So I make that late 1st + 2nd + 3rd. Pretty reasonable return for a 60 pt guy who will be 35 when the season starts.
I expect other teams could make better offers. But that doesn’t matter if Kadri has no interest in playing anywhere but Calgary or Toronto.
