Season 3 is awesome. A joyful, worthy farewell to the TNG characters. You can actually just skip seasons 1 and 2 entirely and you'll enjoy it just fine.

Look. I'm not even kidding. The first two seasons are an entirely discombobulated mess that bear so significance to any part of any story at any later point in the show.
Hell. Most of the characters they introduced in Seasons 1&2 just vanish, never to be heard from again.
You can watch them if you want, but I'm saying that you really dont need to.
Season 3 however, is what Picard the show should have been from the beginning. A send-off. Say whatever else you will, I thought Season 3 was fantastic.
Oh its not Shakespearean dialogue or whatever, its pure balls-to-the-wall, unapologetic fan service and thats what the fans wanted and what the actors and show deserved.
So. If you're a TNG fan? Picard Season 3 is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The other two seasons? Pretend they didnt happen.

One of the best Trek episodes out there. I remember watching that episode, and at the time I wasnt a huge DS9 fan until I did a re-watch several years later and I remember thinking:
"Why aren't people more excited about this episode? This is AWESOME!"
I cant even imagine what that must have taken with the technology and budget at the time. That must have been a MASSIVE undertaking.

Look...I'll say that Seasons 1&2 of Picard are basically...training wheels for Star Trek fans. Those were so horrible and nonsensical but thats something we've made peace with long ago...but that was...i dont really know what to call it. 'Blatant?'
Awful. Awful stuff.

Watching them I almost feel like 'Old Man Leland' when Kramer gets a job at Leland & Leland.
"I dont know what this is supposed to be, its almost as though you have no Star Trek knowledge at all..."

None of the characters introduced in Seasons 1 or 2 were remotely enjoyable to watch. The retconning of Picard’s entire backstory with regards to his family was kind of unnecessary.

I desperately wanted TNG to attach a chain to Geordi's visor, you know, like the one your Grandma has on when she plays Canasta?
So he could just take the visor off and let it hang when he needed a break.
Envision Geordi knocking back some whiskey with his visor hanging down, just chilling.
