Pats have tiebreaker as they only have the one division loss against the Jets. The Jets have lost to both Pats and Fins.

Jets hold the tiebreaker or else Pats would have clinched the division already. NBC just said they have not.

haven't clinched the division yet, but thats only because they could theoretically lose against both the Bills and dolphins (hahahaha, as if)
as of today, they hold the tie breaker
pats are 3-1 in the division, jets are 3-2
pats also have the better common team record

But that's what I mean, Jets hold the tiebreaker over NE because if it does go to a tie because in order to be tied, Pats would have lost to either Fins or Bills or both (yes i know it's farfetched). Holding the tiebreaker today means nothing

Thats because the Patriots would lose out to the Jets and Bills which would make them 3-3 within the Division vs. the Jets 4-2. Right now you can pretty much pencil in the Patriots as the number 1 team. 1 more win will seal it for sure, but they do hold a tie breaker as of now against everyone but the Jets, and no way the Pats lose both of their remaining games, let alone 1.
This is what we'll have
AFC
1.)Patriots 14-2
2.)Steelers 12-4 (will win tie breaker because of Ravens loss to Bengals)
3.)San Diego 10-6 (Chargers win out and Chiefs will lose a game)
4.)Colts 10-6 (Only way Colts lose another is if they clinch next week)
5.)Ravens 12-4 (Inability to beat the Bengals costs them)
6.)Jets 11-5 I think the Bears beat them
7.)Chiefs....10-6 (If only you hadn't blown that first Raider game, or that one against the Texans!)
NFC
1.)Falcons 13-3 (coud be 14-2, but either way they'll be the 1 seed
2.)Eagles 12-4 (Vick ain't losing again during the regular season)
3.)Bears 11-5 (I doubt Cutler to win in Lambeau)
4.)Seahawks (By virtue of 4-2 Division record will edge out Rams)
5.)Saints 12-4 (Could be 11-5, but either way they get the 5 seed and tee off on the NFC West winner)
6.)Packers 10-6 (Two tough games left but I think they'll win out)
7.) Ha ha stupid Giants 10-6 (They can thank Desean Jackson, or that onside kick)
Carve it in stone, this is how it shakes out. I guarantee these are your 12 playoff teams.

yes, you are right about the last point... tie breaker doesn't really matter until end of season. The point is, the Pats have essentially clinched the division because they are not losing both the final 2 games.
...and the jets suck

Horrid oversight by me....Saints get in at 12-4 or 11-5 and the Giants miss. Embarassing...I should ban myself for that.

yeah, theres a couple, Sowa, and J-Pold that I know of.
She's a Pats fan, and typically harder on her own team.

I have had the Saints as a shoe in for the first wild card spot for weeks now, but it is somewhat possible (although unlikely) for them to miss the playoffs. The loss to Baltimore today was huge.
The Orleans-Atlanta game will be huge next monday. My hotel in Kelowna better have it!!
Not sure how the tie breaker would work because the Saints haven't played the packers or giants this year, but Im not sure if both the giants and packer scan make the playoffs while the saints miss out. way too many variables for me to think about.

Yeah if it's a 3 way tie of 10-6 records between the Giants Saints, and Packers, than I think it goes to Conference record....which I think would be a tie as all those teams would be 2-2 against the AFC. From what I can tell the next thing is strength of victory as there isn't head to head with all those teams, and not enough common games.

Not very often my blood gets boiling watching a sporting event any longer...but that last minute of the GB game had me screaming. Im not even mad at Flynn...hes a rookie but there were enough vets ( yes Driver i am looking at you) to make sure the kid hurried it up. I understand its 4th and 1, but with 22 seconds left, you QB sneak it, get up and re-set and spike the ball, which allows you to have at least one if not two throws into the end zone. Frustrating as hell.
Once again I think the Packers D proves how really good and deep they are. I figured it was game over when Nick Collins went down, but they played OK even after that. Holding the Pats offense to 24 is a feat unto itself these days. Holding Brady to well under 150 yards passing is even more impressive.
Oh well....if they can win out they should still make the post season, though one has to wonder if the Giants wont be totally ready to destroy someone next Sunday. Not sure of the tie-break if Tampa wins out as well though as both teams are 6-4 in the conference...and i am not sure they have had enough common opponents for that to come into play. None of that matters though if Rodgers doesnt make it back next week.

I'm loving the haters coming out of the woodwork. It warms the cockles of my heart. AFC West hate is my favourite kind of hate.
I'm really hoping the next Bronco coach addresses the defence first, things could turn around rather quickly.

Chargers fan? I wouldn't worry as they will easily win out and the Raiders will eliminate the Chiefs in the last game to become the first team to go 6-0 in their division and miss the playoffs. Book it.
