so in Golden Knights tradition, she's going to be up 5-0 in the 3rd set of her fourth round match, but then get a phantom foot fault called against her, and then proceed to lose 7 straight games?

No, she would face Halep IN the fourth round. Rd1 Volynets; Rd2 Barthel; Rd3 Wozniacki; rd4 Halep. Would have to beat Halep to get to the QFs. Which isn't at all crazy when you're seeded 15th. Compare that to Bencic, who's seeded 13th and gets Naomi Osaka in rd4. Or Madison Keys, who's seeded 10th and gets Svitolina.
Barty and Williams sure have it easy until the semis, though.
My mistake, thought they were playing in the third round....that makes things much more palatable for Bianca's pathway. The printable draws are much easier to decipher than the web versions.

I'd call it a missed opportunity for Shapo as Hubert Hurkacz wins the ATP 250 event in Winston-Salem defeating Benoit Paire 6-3 3-6 6-3. Congrats to Hubert on his first ATP tourney title.
Agreed. Shapo really let that event slip away considering how the draw presented itself. Given he had the tough turnaround in the semifinals and has certainly elevated his play, there are at least some big positives to be taken away from the last two events he's played.
Of all the majors, I think the US Open suits his style and mentality the best. I'm optimistic he can put something significant together here (if he can get out of the first round anyway).

10 straight losses for Bouchard now.....grim doesn't even begin to describe the situation. It looks like she at least made a match of things here against a pretty solid opponent.
