Well Disney painted West Jet, Why not do another for Star Wars. A million bucks is a drop in the bucket when you consider the movie should make a billion or two world wide. I think by the time the force awakens we are going to be saturated with Start Wars.

Not that I'm complaining..

From what I understand, the WestJet Disney deal wasn't particular favourable for the airline. But the excitement I've seen over that livery, the heads it turns, etc... worth it.

Thought I saw the NAV-Canada CRJ whipping around the city yesterday, flying North over 35L. When I checked FlightAware this morning there was no history of that plane making a flight here. Anyone have an idea what that plane was? It's was going the opposite way of the departures on 17L which was also sort of strange.

Edit: I had the wrong registration, didn't realize there were two NAV-Canada CRJs. C-GFIO was whipping around Calgary yesterday afternoon after coming from Kelowna. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/NVC101

Yup, NavCan was here on Saturday and Sunday doing their thing. Saturday was 17L/35R and yesterday was 17R/35L.

I love when they do the work on 35L as they always come southbound right over my neighbourhood nice and low.

Tried reaching out to a few people I know at WestJet. A special Toronto Blue Jays livery is a "sure thing" in the next 12 months. Expect it on a new 737-800. We've seen what they're capable of with the Disney Plane so this could really be special.

I would never fly on a Toronto Blue Jays plane. It would be late, poorly built, constantly over-promise/under deliver, and probably crash in June

Me too...but the Flames' contract with Air Canada means that this would probably never come to fruition, at least with WestJet.

I'm sure AC would much rather do a Leafs or Habs plane before doing one for the Flames.

Steelers don't fly US Air. US had Cardinals, Eagles, and Panthers planes, none flew US Air. Air Tran had a Falcons plane, pretty sure they didn't carry that team either.

I wonder if the Steelers plane is accurate or has the logo on both sides. :P

Monday I saw the CFL plane from Canadian North take off. I took a couple of pics but they came out a bit potato quality.
Here is a better one.

It was sitting in front of my hangar this morning. A good looking bird for sure.

Love seeing jumbo's at YYC. Hope our cargo business keeps booming and we get more, because I highly doubt we'll be seeing PAX jumbo's anytime soon

Speaking of jumbos... can't believe it's been 10 years. 2:29 MDT this morning (April 27) marks a decade since the big girl first took flight.

Random question for the YYC travelers.

There's an off chance I may be in Calgary the beginning of June. However, I'd have to get from Calgary to Edmonton. What would a base fare be? Right now it's looking like $150 one way. Is that standard, or would they likely go cheaper?

In the neighbourhood of $150 sounds about right, on either WJ/Encore or big red.
