Kraft must have backed up a few Brink's trucks to get him to join a team with so few assets.
He’s got a great QB and lots of cap space (if the Krafts feel like spending).

Converted to American, that's still on the small'ish size. Went down an insomnia-inspired U.S. city metro population worm-hole recently, the average there for a larger city is roughly around 6 million.

The guy is so weird though. I think it's a good hire because he's his Patriots offenses have been good but outside New England he's been trash. The fact that Raiders players were celebrating with cigars the first game after his firing goes to show just how much players hate the guy as supposedly he sucks the life out of the building.

I'm sure he will be fine as he was the only OC that was able to make Mac Jones look good and seems to function well under the Patriots umbrella as long as he's not the guy.

Raiders hire Bucs assistant GM John Spytek as new GM.

I'm surprised Glenn went to the Jets instead of the Saints. Neither team is a great situation but I don't know why a guy with choices would choose to work under Johnson. It's going to be hard for the Lions to seamlessly move on from both OC and DC.

When was the last time a team lost both coordinators in the offsesaon?

The Pats? Weiss and Cernell?

And both replacements were fired at the end of the 2024 season. Campbell has his work cut out for him and I would expect the Lions may take a step back next season.

They are also losing at least one coach who could have promoted to a coordinator position

Okay I was mixing it up, I thought they fired the coordinators from 23 in 24.

Schefty said Johnson continuing to wait would likely cost himself the job and many many millions.

throw back to this Khan/Baalke clip from a couple of weeks ago. I know there's quite a few bad owners in the NFL, but the Khan family has to be up there for sure.

Just as bad as Jerry Jones telling the media he didn't buy the team so he could pay a GM. He bought the team because this was going to be his occupation for the rest of his life, and he will be the GM LOL.

They have to be 1 and 2 for worst owners, although the guy in Carolina Tepper is quickly climbing his way up.

I was reading an artical by a Raiders reporter Hondo Carpenter where the crux was that the Raiders might have avoided another Josh McDaniels by not getting Ben Johnson from the Lions. Both guys are brilliant and can create great offensive schemes. They're both very introverted though so relating to a large group like a football team is very difficult. Johnson under a guy like Campbell who's the motivator is one thing. But could he be the source of motivation himself was another.

There's a reason why some folks really do excel as coordinators but can't make the jump to head coach. McDaniels looks to be just that.
