Arraez is unreal. Is he the best contact hitter of this generation? Must be nice to have your star players playing like stars.

Every game the same thing with the hitters . I guess this is just who they are - a very mediocre team

I still think this is a good team in a big rut, but there's no doubt you can't just keep losing ground to other teams without something happening, someone getting fired. Painful to watch them underachieve so much.

Yeah I was a huge Schneider fan but maybe he isn't the voice for this team. Then again what does a manager really bring. Something has to give though. Atkins, Schneider, Martinez, anything. This is year 3 of a 5 year window until Bo walks to So'cal. Can't let another one slip.

On a positive note Votto hit a homerun in his first game back from surgery. Canadian legend right there. Something positive from the Toronto area.

I remember saying during the offseason they needed a new hitting coach. I remember others suggesting it too and it was laughed at because of some fancy stats.
The team's approach to hitting is heavily flawed. At the start of the season they were smart and focused on just moving the line along. Then that wore off and everyone was trying to hit a homerun which led to being dumb and chasing horrible pitches.

This club is just pushing up daisies and digging their grave right now. Digging themselves into an insurmountable hole.
They are really stinking up the joint. Big time.
They really are not good enough at all.

Can't hit or pitch with any consistency. The sum is not the whole of the parts.

JP Morosi was on the radio this afternoon ripping the Jays. Not that his opinion matters more than most but there certainly is a sentiment being shared around the league about how disappointing this team, and in particular, Vlad, has been.
I think in fandom there is a mutual respect when watching great talent, and unless it's your direct rival, you want them to succeed. And when they don't it's kind of sad.
I give it until the end of the month and if the Jays don't make a big push that changes will happen. Chapman, KK, and Merrifield are all great trade chips. There will probably be interest in Kikuchi and likely some of the arms out of the pen. Load up on a few picks and prospects and try again in the offseason. Likely with Atkins not at the helm too.

The sad part about this disappointing season is some of the downstream impacts. The Jays even though spending in USD but earning in CAD, will have to spend more in the off-season to get surefire players rather than the players hoping to put it together. Secondly, because our tradable assets are rentals in baseball I don't believe they go for a crazy premium. So good luck getting what we dealt for Varsho back in any capacity. I do wonder if the lack of revenue from missing the playoffs will make Rogers go for Plan B with the yet unannounced full Rogers Centre renovations?

Can't be a coincidence the starting pitching has suffered since the 4-man rotation started

I hate sports. Cavalry, Raptors, Flames, Blue Jays, Stamps all ****ing suck the big one. Not one successful, fun watching experience. What a time to be a sports fan, lol.
