In case anyone hadn't heard, Austin Martin was hit in the helmet with a pitch last week and hasn't played since.
In the same game (maybe by the same pitcher?) Gabriel Moreno was also hit by a pitch on the hand and broke his thumb. He had surgery and will now be out 4-6 weeks at least.
Both Jays top 5 prospects and both could easily be ranked as the Jays best prospect depending on who you ask.
A bit of good news though is that Kirk has played 3 AAA games now and has an OPS of 1.500. He should be back any time now which is awesome.
Dolis and Axford both pitched an inning for the Bisons yesterday as well. Not sure if that's good news or not but neither guy gave up any runs, and it means there are a couple veteran relievers soon to be available for the bullpen both of whom have had success at the MLB level in the past in high leverage situations.
we're all Bluejays fans here, so obviously we are cheering for Vladdy to win the HR race...
but damn, Ohtani is fun to watch...throws 100 mph pitch and then with a literal cracker of a HR in the same game... the sound was not altered or enhanced either.
siap
Just an incredible swing too

Yeah. He’s bloody impressive. His raw power is ridiculous. It seems every hit is a bomb. Like I don’t even think he’d know what to do if he hit a single.
Like you said, still pulling for Vladdy, but hard not to be in awe of Shohei.
