I thought Ray Wilkins was excellent, first time I had heard him, if he doesn't go back in to coaching I think he could become one of the best commentators
The Yids weren't on the tele tonight, Man City was. They were on SKY.
Bias in the British media is sickening. By far the worst are British boxing commentators, followed by tennis. I usually don't find football to be that bad, but it is usually imbued with some bias. Rugby probably has the least amount of commentary bias.
I don't really see the issue to be honest. If you're British and it's an 'international' event - why can't you lean towards your home country?? It makes it more exciting - no different than Peter with the Flames. If you're cheering for AC Milan - watch an Italian feed??
ya I don't mind it, most british people I know cheer for all the English teams in Europe except 1 in most cases (wouldn't expect Arsenal fans to cheer for Spurs, Utd fans to cheer for Liverpool and vice versa etc.)
cheering more for the Premier League against La Liga/Serie A/Bundesliga than anything else
Damn, I was thinking something insane happened for there to be 3 new pages for one non-elimination match day, but it was just play-by-play. Disappointing!
How on Earth did Flamini not get sent off? That was a brutal tackle.! Ref totally got that one wrong. Funny to see Gattuso is still a fraudulent tough guy.

I'll admit I'm nervous about Nasri playing vs. Barca.
I guess the trainers know better than I do, it just seems like a short turnaround after how they described the hamstring injury after it happened.
Looking forward to the match, hopefully they learned a lesson or two from last year.
Really interested in it just from a tactics perspective
To realistically advance I think that not only do Arsenal need to win, but probably by at least 2
And Wenger is so stubborn in his ways that I don't see him changing style, in fact all I have seen him say is that Arsenal are a better team this year than last (and with the emergence of Nasri and Wilshere I think he is right)
But I still don't see how a team built like Arsenal has success against Barca, if Arsenal attack they are basically playing right in to their hand, and they don't have the players to grind out a 1-0 type win against Barca (like the Chelsea teams under Mourinho, or the Inter team last year again under Jose)

Sure, if it is an actual international event with players representing their home nation. The Olympics, Ryder Cup, Davis Cup, and the Cricket/Rugby/Football Championships - fair game. Club level sports and individual sports (boxing, tennis) should be called a lot more evenly.
Peter Mahrer is a beacon of unbiased play-by-play commentary compared to what you get over here, Bob Ballard excepted.
Heard a few pundits mention that Walcott should try and exploit Dani Alves' lack of defensive awareness. Other than that, it could be ugly. But, maybe the same football gods that were smiling on the Yids last night are still awake!
