I never understood the need to do that. There's at least 2 different sort buttons depending on what screen you're on. It's goofy.
If there's one thing that has driven me insane about this game since 2007 it's the menu layout. Each year they add new features and each year it gets more complicated. Most people find Atlantis before they find the roster updates.

So they announced an online dynasty and I pissed myself a little ... then I read the article. I'm confused as to whether I should be annoyed or happy, it makes no sense to me.
I'm not sure what's so wrong with just a regular dynasty mode. Seems needlessly complicated and somebody unwilling to improve their team through microtransactions (read: me) will get smoked.
I get ya, I'm not overly pleased that ultimate team was chosen over a regular online dynasty. I feel this was a management decision due to the instant success of the game modes in FIFA and Madden. Me personally I would've gotten online dynasty in this year, and save ultimate for next year. Thus this can avoid the alienation of the hardcore gamers that aren't all that attracted to ultimate team.
Jobo, think we'll ever see the return of the free for all mode? that was a great way to play with a lot of friends at once
I think we will. It's coming back on NHL Slapshot, so it's still in EA's mind clearly. I'm really hoping for that feature to come back as well. It was a lot of fun with or without friends in NHL 06.
Wondering if we will see the free agency/draft period changed a bit in GM mode?
I noticed not long ago that if you hit free agency right after the draft, that about half the frist round picks, most of which were better then my pick is, are left unsigned. A lot of picks 10-20 ish.
I know that I shouldn't be signing 5 first round picks from the same draft year to ELC...

Ahonen, Leclaire, and Obsut oh my!

yeah, that really seems overly complicated and confusing. its like you guys were talking about with the menus. they just keep making everything different and harder to learn.
On my GM team I just moved Ahonen, and traded Obsut months after he signed a 3 year 5.9 million dollar deal (which was total bull). I got matt duchene, 3 overall less than Obsut, for 2.9, and the guy has 96 speed, 99 agility and 97 acceleration, high 90's passing and shot.

The article mentions you can earn cards that let you use certain players in more games. WTF are they trying to do? It's hockey, not f'n Pokemon. How is it realistic if I can't play my players because I don't have the proper card?
I give them an "A" for being forward thinking, but c'mon it's hockey ... why screw with a formula that's already going to work? Let me host a month long season, generate me a schedule, let me invite up to 29 friends, CPU control the teams that don't get selected, let us trade and at the end of the month there's a playoff. I would never leave my basement.
Jumping Jesus look at this monstrosity:

No Brainer.
Stamkos is also awesome. So is Okposo and Hedman.
Every Be A GM I start, I always acquire Turris.
Don't know why Phoenix is so willing to give him up, but he is a 90 within 3 seasons.

There was a little more info last night from Rammer (one of the producers) and it shed a little light. It actually sounded like they wanted to do something and the FIFA people already had a framework that they could work off of. My guess is that having a pre-existing framework was a big push in their current direction. I wonder if my ideas of just making a simple online dynasty wouldn't be overly simple at all. I'm willing to give a little in that respect.
He also mentioned that this "cardplay" feature will be this years demo and will carry over to the main game depending on how well you do. Here's the link if anybody is interested: http://www.easports.com/blogs/inthec...e-dynasty-ever
I'm going to have to do a little reading, but does anybody know if the leagues are split up into groups of 30 teams, or will it just be a massive pool of teams all playing each other?
Ya that definitely grabbed my attention. The standard GM/dynasty mode has been largely untouched. I suppose they added the little "achievements" last year, but I never payed any attention to them.

I believe it will be a massive pool of teams depending on your performances during the regular season. There is amateur, pro, and elite levels.
Probably been asked before but why do all of the international jerseys suck so much?
How hard would it be to make a decent looking jersey? I know they can't use the official jerseys but why not make them less like a giant poncho and come up with something other than a flag in the middle of the jersey? Seems to me they could have artists go wild and create any number of awesome jerseys for each country.
