Glad to hear. Yeah, I don't like my real life friends knowing my username on anything. And they already think I'm a geek. But real life takes precedent over virtual life.

Why do people act differently online than in person?

How do you know people are acting differently if you haven't met them in real life?

Do you have something to share with us HOOT? Is there something you want to get off your chest? Does your double life make you uncomfortable? Does it keep you up at night? We won't judge.
Ok, yeah we will. But tell us anyway.

No it just seems weird that people would care if friends saw your CP posts.

Sometimes I wish I could start over again and not have my friends, and family especially, know who I am.
Then I would lose all the reputation I have as flip though...
Wait, what am I thinking, that might be a win-win.

I think it is hard not to. They are so different. Even if I tried to act the same as I do in life, I just don't know that I could.
Emotion just isn't properly conveyed thru text only. It is probably pretty good at being an equalizer though.
Young/old, male/female, cool/loser, black/white/asian/brown etc. You can't really judge based on appearances here. Like when people find out a certain poster is a chick. It kind of changes your perspective on things. Before being told though, I generally assume everyone is like me, as far as demographics go.

I don't tell them so they won't know just how obsessed I really am. I find it totally weird.

For me it is because of a few reasons.
Sometimes I talk shiznat about my friends when we aren't getting along. Maybe venting about them is a better way to put it. (and I totally got called on this a while ago. Oops. It was...all in good fun...right?)
Also I share things that I don't care about sharing because you guys don't know me. Confessions, stories, stuff that maybe I don't want my friends knowing but because here is anonymous I don't care.
Family seems obvious. i post stuff like, well you know, the kind of stuff you might not want your mom or dad to know.
It certainly isn't that I'm afraid my friends are going to see this dark side of me. Of the people I do know on CP, that I regularly see in real life, we often have conversations that carry over from CP threads.

Ya fair enough. Didn't think about how some people do share a lot on here because they are anonymous.
I post a lot but not usually personal stuff unless I'm drunk.

Massive bonfires rule. Massive bonfires at 2am at a campsite run by borderline fascists threatening to incur some serious cab fare....not so much.
David Wilcox sucks at all times.

Depends on your definition I suppose. I would write something more insulting, but I tend to save that for 4x4, shes at least got the benefit of the doubt.

Haha...most people are surprised that I tame it down for the interwebs, its usually the other way around.

I have no problem with it now. It's probably worse if you're out doing really terrible things someone could read it. In fact, my brother was a really active poster on here for years before I stopped trolling and signed up.
As long as my family doesn't find out about the gang bangs, I think I'm okay.

Like really, I'm sure she's into meeting dudes over CP. If she's as hot as every supposedly said, I highly doubt she has to come here to pick up men. Most of whom live like 2000+k away.

Not hot at all. People just got carried away.

You're one of those people that says they have a secret but won't tell you what it is. Crown Royal, eh? Hmmm.

Unfortunately it was one of those things that is kind of, what is the word, adorable for a while and probably kind of flattering for her, and then just got creepy and sad REAL fast.
|
The original thread was certainly not as bad as people are saying it was. Like I said above, people got a little carried away, it was like mob mentality, but it was not nearly as horrific as is being said. I believe the original thread was actually lost when the server was hacked awhile back. It wasn't deleted, unless you are referring to the link to my pic on the map, then yes, that was deleted.

That's common knowledge on the board.. it's in the confession thread too.
I keep hoping for a trip to my Ottawa office so I can meet her.

I was just giving the poster (who admitted it above) a hard time. I knew his dirty little secret was out.

I purposely signed up under my real first name, to keep myself in check. In real life I try to be tactful, and figured that I should be accountable for my posts, knowing that I may run into people in real life from here eventually. I probably delete 1/4 of my posts before I reply, as sometimes I feel they are over the top.
What I'd like to know...
-What's Rob Kerr's account name?
-How many people usually show up for the various CP meets in Calgary?
-Who has the highest posts per day?

I didn't know Rob had an account. He's not a big fan of CP from what I can tell.
Depends on what you mean. I hear the meet ups at Pete's Pub are attended fairly well. And usually the CP den meet ups have between 5-10 people show up.
I can't say for sure, I've only gone to the Den once and I had to leave after like 20 minutes because I had class.
Highest posts per day is probably Machiavelli at 18+ posts per day.
