For Story line... Team Droopy's Dungeon selects... Quite possibly the stupidest fued EVER!!!

DAVID FREAKING ARQUETTE WINS THE WCW TITLE

In 2000, after filming the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) produced movie Ready to Rumble, Arquette was brought into WCW storylines. He made his first appearance on the April 12 episode of Thunder, first sitting in the crowd then leaping into the ring to take part in a worked confrontation with Eric Bischoff and his New Blood stable.[10] Afterwards he was placed into an alliance with Chris Kanyon and the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page, and with their help defeated Bischoff in a singles match in the April 24 episode of WCW Monday Nitro.[11] On the following Thunder (April 26), Arquette teamed with Page in a match against Bischoff and Jeff Jarrett with the stipulation that whichever man got the pin would take the championship. Arquette pinned Bischoff again in the match's finish, receiving the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the process.[12]
During his time as champion, Arquette was mostly used as comic relief. He only appeared on two shows as champion, the May 1 Nitro and May 7 Slamboree pay-per-view. During the former, a vignette was shown, filmed on the set of Arquette's film 3000 Miles to Graceland, which also featured his wife, Courteney Cox, and their co-star, Kurt Russell. In the vignette, Courtney informs Russell that Arquette is the WCW Champion, causing Russell to laugh and walk off and Arquette to chase after him with a steel chair. In another portion of the show he's seen backstage wetting himself in fear and attempting to "give back" the belt. He did, however, successfully defend the belt against Tank Abbott with help from Diamond Dallas Page.[13]
He held the championship until the May 7 Slamboree pay-per-view. During the show he was booked to defend the championship again Jarrett and Page in a Triple Cage--the same match featured in the climax of Ready to Rumble--and ended up turning on Page in the end, giving the victory to Jarrett.[14] He made one final WCW appearance after Slamboree, cutting a promo on the May 8 Nitro explaining that his entire friendship with Page and title run was a "swerve," prompting Page to run to the ring and deliver a Diamond Cutter to him.[15]
In 2002, Arquette made one more appearance on a professional wrestling show, popping up in the crowd of the February 8, 2002 episode of the World Wrestling Federation's SmackDown! holding up a sign reading "Former WCW World Champ."[16]
After World Wrestling Entertainment purchased WCW, Arquette's championship run was listed as the top reason for the "failure" of Nitro in a WWE Magazine list.[17]

On the theme of belts..... I am calling upon the trained wrestling eye of the experts in this thread / draft.

Here is a picture that a former co-worker took before he bought his house a few years ago.

These belts were in the display case when they did a walk through with the realtor and he was told that a wrestler owned the house before him.

The house is in the covenrty hills area of Calgary.

Who is the mystery wrestler (I have my guess) or are they fake?

I'm guessing Benoit for some reason.

The top belt is the NWA World Title

The middle is the WWE World Title

The next is the United States champion which is a wcw title

And the bottom is the WCW world tag team titles.

I can't think of any other local guy besides the hitman who held all of those belts except I don't think he ever won the tag belts with WCW.

Ok, so the final round has started. Getbak is in a self-imposed AK, and StoneCole is away so he's been AK'd for his round 11 pick and, if we get that far before he comes back, his final pick.

I've been thinking of a second wrestling draft focusing more on storylines and out-of-ring activities once this draft is completed. Categories like Best Promo, Best Heel Performance, Best Face Performance, stuff like that. I think it'd have to be a little smaller than this one, as it would be difficult to find enough legitimate categories to draft in.

And the belt on top that you can only see the bottom half, looks like an ECW title.

That was my thought as well. Benoit is the only Calgary trained guy that I can think of that was in ECW.

I can't think of anyone, let alone anyone who lives/lived in Calgary who would have held all of those as a wrestler.

The one that's chopped off sitting on top of the case is the old ECW World Title, and no one who held that belt ever held the WCW and WWF belts.

That version of the WWF belt came along after Bret Hart went to WCW, and was replaced after Wrestlemania 18. The only one who ever held it who might have owned a home in Calgary is Jericho (who I don't think has ever had a house here since he went to the big leagues).

If the house was owned by a professional wrestler, he didn't win all of those belts.

More than likely it was a fan who bought the replica belts and either lied to the realtor to either fool the realtor, or not look like an weirdo who would drop $300 on a replica WCW Tag Belt.

EDIT: Beaten by getbak...sorta

Well, it would have to be someone who won the WWF Championship after March 29, 1998 because that's when that design was first used. I can't really think of many people who wrestled in WCW and won both world titles. Benoit is eliminated because he never won the WWF Title.

Jericho won both, but was never United States champ.

The title at the top is the ECW Heavyweight Title, and the only person to have won all three of the Heavyweight Titles is Paul Wight, and he was never United States champ while in WCW.

I say they're fake, unless Wight now lives in Calgary.

Team Stylin' and Proflin' is proud to select as our storyline Billy and Chuck

Near the end of the Invasion storyline, Chuck Palumbo was kicked out of the WCW/ECW coalition. In response, he defected to the WWF, where he began teaming with Gunn in an affront to the alliance. After the Invasion ended, the duo were turned heel.
A storyline began in which Palumbo and Gunn became increasingly affectionate toward each other, showing evidence of a homosexual relationship. The duo adopted matching red ring gear and bleached their hair with Chuck beginning to wear pigtails. Developmental talent Rico was placed in the role of their crafty "personal stylist". Billy and Chuck would win the World Tag Team Championships on two occasions, and primarily feud with the APA.
In September 2002, Chuck proposed marriage to Billy, and Billy accepted. Their ceremony was aired on SmackDown!. During the wedding, Gunn and Palumbo revealed that their homosexuality was merely a publicity stunt that had gone too far, and they admitted they were only friends. Eric Bischoff, who had disguised himself as the priest officiating the wedding, and 3-Minute Warning from Raw then led an attack on Stephanie McMahon, the General Manager of SmackDown!. Following this incident, Rico defected to Raw and managed 3-Minute Warning. Billy and Chuck remained a team, turning face and dropping all facets of their gay gimmick.
Billy and Chuck's final match together occurred on SmackDown! in the first round of a tournament for the newly created WWE Tag Team Championship. They lost the match to the team of Ron Simmons and Reverend D-Von. Gunn received a shoulder injury during the match, and was taken off of television. The team quietly separated with Chuck going into singles competition and Billy returned with his Mr. Ass gimmick.

Yeah it was bad, but it was funny as hell and it was fun to watch.

This was one of the last few storylines that really "shocked" me. I wasn't expecting Bischoff to be the minister at all and remember freaking out when I watched it on TheScore. The other one that really surprised me was when Hulk Hogan made his return on SmackDown! in the summer of 2003 (that's a total guess, btw). My how times have changed!

you can buy replica belts off Shopzone for like $399 a pop. I got to hold an "Undisputed" Championship Belt once, and it was fricken heavy. I say the guy may have been a wrestler, but he never won any of those.

EDIT - Looks like I was beaten by getbak as well...

Looking for my storyline as well...

Storyline

Triple H - Chyna - Kane Triangle (Ending at Wrestlemania XV)

After The Rock won his "I Quit" match against Mankind at the Royal Rumble by playing a recording of his voice, Triple H demanded an I Quit match of his own but, as he was about to put Rock through the announce table, The Corporation came to the ring and Kane held his manager/girlfriend Chyna hostage, demanding that he quit the match. As soon as the match was over though, Chyna low blowed Triple H and revealed her alliances with The Corporation, promising to give him a Valentine's Day present at the subsequent pay-per-view. Despite almost having the match won, Triple H suffered at the hands of an interfering Shane McMahon and illegal man Kane's chokeslam.[4] Triple H took revenge on the February 22 Raw is War by interfering in X-Pac's (Sean Waltman) match with Chyna, causing her to lose. Chyna then called Triple H out on March 8 but before they could fight Kane came to the ring and Chyna held up Triple H as Kane shot a fireball at him, though he would duck out the way causing (kayfabe) severe retinal damage to Chyna. Despite not receiving any damage, Triple H maintained that the fireball was meant for him, an insult he took personally and an intended injury he wanted to return personally at WrestleMania. On March 22 Kane prepared to have a match against Goldust, but as he threw off his entrance robes and wig it turned out he was Triple H holding a flamethrower, shooting flames in Kane's face.[6] Meanwhile X-Pac, who had altercations with Shane McMahon previous to the February event, was frustrated with his Shane's interference in the match and was goaded into putting his European Championship on the line in a tag team match with Triple H against Kane and Shane which Shane won thanks to Triple H being distracted by Chyna.[9] With Shane claiming himself to be a fighting champion, he agreed to a rematch at WrestleMania but regularly interfered in X-Pac's matches up until that point culminating in a Greenwich Street Fight on March 22 that ended in a no contest when the Mean Street Posse ambushed X-Pac and drove off with Shane in their car.

Before Kane's match with Triple H, Kane entered the ring only to be attacked while he was performing his signature entrance by the San Diego Chicken. Kane fought back and unmasked the chicken, revealing it be Pete Rose, trying to gain revenge for the previous year's incident but receiving a tombstone piledriver. Triple H also tried to ambush Kane by coming through the crowd while all eyes were on the stage entrance, hitting Kane out of the ring and then hitting him into the ring post and whipping him into the steel steps. Kane then picked Triple H up and straddled him on the crowd barrier, pushing him into the Mean Street Posse who were at ring side, picking him up again to ram his back into the steel post three times. Back inside the ring Kane dominated Helmsley with his rough fighting style, using his foot to choke Triple H and knocking him down with clotheslines and punches until Triple H gained momentum from a reversal, smashing Kane's face into his knee. Kane was allowed time to recover when Triple H was distracted by Chyna coming to ringside. Triple H tried to Pedigree Kane as he stood up but failed while Chyna pushed the steel steps into the ring. Kane picked them up and ran into Triple H, who used the turnbuckle to swing his feet up and kicked them back into Kane causing Kane to stagger backwards and drop them before smashing his face into the steps from a drop toe-hold. Triple H then clotheslined Kane out of the ring, following himself and attempting to Pedigree Kane on the steps but was backbody dropped. When they made it back into the ring Kane chokeslammed Triple H while Chyna entered the ring with a steel chair, telling Kane she wanted to attack Triple H but as Kane turned, Chyna hit him with the chair causing him to corner her but again was hit with the chair, this time by Triple H who followed it up with a Pedigree onto the chair. Chyna and Triple H celebrated the reunion of D-Generation X afterwards.

Before X-Pac could make his way to the ring Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco attacked him from behind but caused little problem to X-Pac who beat them then ran into the ring, with Shane McMahon fleeing. Shane eventually made his way to the ring and was punched into the corner, escaping a Bronco Buster when Test pulled him out of the ring. Shane tried to escape once again but X-Pac chased him and threw him back into the ring, only to be struck down by Test and then have his crotch rammed into the ring post. When he returned to the ring Shane scoop slammed him and attempted a Corporate Elbow, with X-Pac sitting up just before the end but he was brought back down with a low blow as referee Mike Chioda was distracted by Test. Shane continued to push the disqualification boundaries by whipping X-Pac with his belt several times before being back body dropped out of the ring, recovering only to be met with a flying crossbody. The Mean Street Posse tried to restrain X-Pac but he fought back, only to be floored by Test. After a superplex, the pincount was broken up by Test but he was soon kicked out of the ring then X-Pac whipped McMahon with the belt before round house kicking him into the corner and performing the Bronco Buster. When Chioda checked on McMahon afterwards, Test struck X-Pac with the championship belt but by the time McMahon covered him he managed to kick out. Test tried to interfere but took a Bronco Buster too. Triple H and Chyna came to the ring to pull Test out but when McMahon was floored by an X Factor, Chyna distracted the referee to allow Triple H to Pedigree X-Pac and cover him with Shane, allowing him to retain the title. The New Age Outlaws ran in the ring and brawled with Triple H and Test until the lights went out and Kane's music began to play but by the time the lights came up The Corporation were clear of the ring and had fled.

I remember the buildup vividly... I remember Chyna turning on Kane, who was the heel at the time, and Triple H as the face. And I remember my feelings of when Triple H and Chyna came out, and turned on the face X-Pac... I was blown away. I never was so 'taken' by an angle before, and I fell for it hook line and sinker.

Easily the best 'swerve' I think I've ever seen.

With it's final pick, Team Kayfabe selects, in the match category, a match that had possibly three of the greatest heavyweights of their generation, Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi vs Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue from June 6, 1995 for the Double Tag Titles.

You can read a review of this match here: http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/vi...aue-6-9-95.htm

Here is the match from YouTube. It's Misawa in green, Kobashi in orange against Kawada in black & yellow and Taue in red.
