Sutter apparently couldn't find a balance between looking after his farm and coaching.

It's looking like he'll still be involved in the team, but in a much smaller role.
Interested to see how a guy as young as Wallin (26, I believe) does behind the bench.

He has nowhere to go but up after the season they just had in RD.

Wallin was being groomed for the job all along. He was the associate coach this season and it was always the long term goal for him to take over the reins full time. Staypuft is right that Brian Sutter just couldn't commit the time necessary to the team that is required.

I'm pleased to see that Jesse is being given his chance. He has the potential to do very well here.

Hitmen mimic the Flames.... down 2-1 after one and outshot 15-5, they stormed back to win 8-3. Good effort tonight.

That game may well turn out to be the difference in the series. Moose Jaw has to be wondering how they let that game slip away. A glorious chance to put some serious doubt in the minds of the Hitmen players goes for not.

I expect the Hitmen will win the next 2 games to finish the series.

Saw the highlights of that one. Tough, tough loss for sure.

Kootenay on the verge of dumping the defending champs too. Didn't think the Tigers would go down this easily.

On the off chance the Hitmen series goes seven games, game seven would be played in the Corral. As much as I doubt it goes that far (and don't want it to), I have to say, a packed house for a WHL game in the old barn would be something to see.

HUGE win for the Hitmen tonight.

Down two men for 1:53 to start the third, Calgary kills it off, then scores the GWG less than a minute later.

Kozun, Bortis and Galliardi had massive games.

Calgary with a chance to close it out on Friday at home.

Ice can't get the sweep, as the Bosch-Ennis-Todd line finally did something for the Hat apparently..

Giants and Bruins tied 1-1 heading into the third on Shaw. Go BRUINS ('cause I have nothing to do on Friday night).

I wasn't expecting Medicine Hat would roll over and die. Brandon, OTOH, surprised me by laying the boots to Lethbridge tonight.

Looks like Kamloops is about to become the first team eliminated, as Tri-City is about to move on.

Wow.

First they get robbed in Game 1, then a tough break in Game 2, then a marathon in Game 3, then with 6 seconds left in Game 4, the tying goal gets waved off. I feel for the Bruins..

Tough end for Chilliwack, but they'll be back next year.

Down to 14 left in the dance.

Another BC team on the ropes now, Seattle has stormed back from a two-game deficit, they now lead the Rockets 3-2 in the series heading back to the Okanagan.

Who is going to Game 5 tonight? Hopefully the Jaw's elimination game!

Tough loss for the Hitmen last night. They flat out dominated Moose Jaw (again), but Perricone and some penalty issues did them in.

Spokane wiped out Everett last night, Kootenay moved on, and the Broncos are on the verge of upsetting the Pats.

Should Calgary advance, they will play Swift Current in the second round, they completed the upset of overrated Regina tonight.

In the West, Seattle and Kelowna will play a Game 7 at KeyArena Tuesday night.

EDIT: may I also take this moment to thank the Broncos. Now Kootenay can avoid the Hitmen (the only team they were consistently terrible against) in round 2.

I was hoping to see that. Swift Current shouldn't really be a difficult match-up for Calgary. Probably less so than Kootenay would be, whom I would expect to be an entirely different animal than they were in the regular season.

That sad, the boys still gotta get the job done tomorrow. I know throwing 3-1 leads has been a Calgary hallmark the last couple years, but they gotta get this thing done in six.
