I for one am very glad France won...and as an England fan that is saying something. Portugal's antics vs. Italy 's antics fighting *cough*diving*cough* for the World Cup would have been a bad thing for football I think. No one wants to see teams emulating that kind of crap.
As for Ronaldo, he just keeps winning over the fans. Cheese with your whine sir?
Ronaldo criticised referee Jorge Larrionda for his display in the match, claiming that the Uruguayan was biased against his side.
"We played well and did our best but the referee didn't help us," the Manchester United player said.
"Everyone who saw the match could see that the referee wasn't fair.He should have shown yellow cards but he did not because Portugal is a small country. We just have to carry on working and then we will be a big country."
Yeahhhhh sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

France vs. Italy
Initial predictions?
Tough one to call, but I am going to go with France 2-0 in Berlin on Sunday.

Actually, I thought it was a case of Karma coming back on Portugal, considering the way they played the last few matches...

I think Italy 2 - 1. Buffon will be the difference as the French goalie will allow a weak one

I hope FIFA really does something about all the play-acting. It is really turning me off football. Australia was the only team that played honestly.

I think every team has been guilty of diving in this world cup, its part of the game, and officials have been doing very well at locating the dives and continuing play. C Ronaldo though must be leading the stats on diving.
Your comment on Austrailia is also a little biased, I watched Cahill and Kewell fall all over the park against Croatia as well.

I'm going to say Italy 2-0. I think they have a ton of confidence right now, more then France, and will win it sending the old guys home one game short.

Would not be surprised to see a penalty shoot-out in the final. Not sure why, just a hunch.

With Del Piero blasting the losing shot 10ft over the bar ala Baggio '94.

2-0 Italy... And a riot in Roma shortly thereafter.
Actually, there'll be a riot here regardless. Like I said before; a little bit of Edmonton has crept into Roma.

****in eh... I'm going to watch the game at.......... Circo Massimo!
It's going to be pretty insane. They're estimating 100,000 people filling the ancient ruins of circus maximus, with the gigantic big screen.
Turns out that they had the big screen set up for the semis too. I didn't even know about it and I live 5 minutes (walking) away from there.
ITALIA!
Oh, and I predict a portugal upset tonight. 1-0 in extra time.

I fancy Italy to win and have done since the 2nd round. It felt like they were fated to me. With that said, if I had to choose I'd probably go for a French victory. As I dislike both though it really isn't much of a choice. Once England and Australia were out I was pulling for Germany and that didn't pan out too well either.

3-1 Germany wins!
Great ending of a great World Cup for Germany. Good to see some goals at the end, and good to see a good game from Khan and co.
I can't wait until 2010 to cheer them on again!

Good game, still think that the third place game is kind of pointless at the WC but it was nice to see the full teams and effort, maybe my point of view is changing. Here's to a good game with no shootout tomorrow!

well, it´s very, very difficult to describe my feelings in a different language, but this last weeks were just amazing, this tournament was just so ****in incredible for me it´s really hard to tell (even in my own language!!)
so i just have to say wow!!! wowwww! wowie!!!
and this has nothing to do with the outcome, it´s just so different to be a german right now, you don´t have to be ashamed to be proud of your country, you don´t have to be ashamed to show your emotions, you just can be like you are, so in my opinion this tournament helped germany more than what politicians could do in 1000 years!!!
so right now i´m just very, very proud!!!!
thank you & have a good night!!!
54, 74, 90, 2010!!! ja stimmen wir alle ein, mit dem herz in der hand und der leidenschaft im bein, werden wir weltmeistern sein!!!
