Hopefully Shea tries to sit in Barry's chair.....Shea kinda reminds me of that other ex-jay red-ass that played with Barry a few years ago and that went very well.

It is a bit strange, because in all fairness Mark Sweeney was doing just fine hitting RHP at first base. He has better #s than Shea does vs. RHP too.

Feliz shouldn't even be taking up a roster spot on the Giants. The guy is like a worse version of Tony Batista, hits the ball hard, but has these awful OBPs... his career OBP is .293, absolutely disgusting for an MLB 3rd Baseman.

Not to mention, Feliz has really messed up splits. So it isn't like Hillenbrand who likes to rake against LHP, so he isn't that useful in a platoon type role.

They'll probably use Hillenbrand at 3rd base, and it will basically be a wash if you take out the first 2 weeks. He'll probably hit like a demon, then slump per usual.

Enjoyed hearing Zaun talk about how the urgency he said was missing from this team seems to be there now.

For anybody who watched the game last night, was I the only one holding there breath when Gibbons lead SS pitch to A-rod last night? Macdonald made one hell of a play on that grounder though.

The twins have just been on fire, wow. However the Jays are only 4 1/2 back of the WC

You have to remeber it is after the All-Star break so Feliz' OBP is going to seem like HOF material compared to Hillenbarand's annual second half dive.

Wow ten runs in 2.1 innings so far today - the jays are bombing the yankees 10-3 now, looks like they might win this key series knock on wood.

He's usually pretty chill, I think just the 8 run innning and 5 homers so far are unusual. Never heard the WGN guy but I think sportsnet does a great job with the jays games.

Campbell sucks.

His commentary is okay when nothing is happening, but when any sort of exciting play takes place he gets way too excited and his voice starts to break up.

Rod Black on TSN is much better, and Pat Tabler is okay as a colour guy. I like when Darren Fletcher does colour on sportsnet from time to time.

put it on the board...yes. God I hate that guy, the worst announcer in sports.

Campbell is defintley a little excited today but he has been really good at not overhyping every Blue Jay play since he started doing the play by play. I really like him actually, him and Tabler make a good tandom. Better then Faulds

I disagree. I think Campbell has improved vastly since he started doing play by play. He has got a great grasp of baseball history and blue jays history specifically. And there's nothing wrong with a little voice cracking on a big play. Tabler is fast be coming one of my favourite color guys.

Wells is in an absolute groove.

2 HR's today, with 2 other balls to the warning track.

I agree w Jiri, I like Campbell, he's a Jays fan and he had almost impossible shoes to fill in replacing Shulman, who's the best in the biz imo. It just seems that as the season has gone on his calls have been amped up to the point of seeming forced or artificial. As for colour guys have always liked Tabler, kind of a poor man's Ken Singleton (ex expos now with yanks).

The new guy Accardo coming in. Good time to see his first action with a lead this big. Marcum with another solid outing

Two weeks ago, Ricciardi said things would be evaluated at the end of the Yankee series.

Here we are, on the way to a 3 of 4 from NYY...one would have to say that Riccardi has to go for it this year...this team has the horses. He navigated the Hillenbrand fiasco, and the team seems to be ready to take that step.

Obviously, another starter, so middle relief help, and some more utility IF/OF depth is needed to get through the stretch.

I think the latter two are attainable but there doesn't seem to be any starting pitching out there apart from washed up vets like El Sid.

And we must remember that getting Chachin back is like trading for a starter:

Doc
Burnett
Lilly
Chachin
Markham/Janssen

Shulman? He broadcasted on TSN from 1995 - 2002. Since then, Cerutti, Faulds, and now Campbell have done the commentary on Sportsnet.

Accardo did allow 2 runs there but he did get those 2 ground balls to Jeter and Cabrerra that we're inches away from being outs.

True, but Campbell replaced Faulds due to poor viewer feedback and decreasing numbers, Cerutti was Faulds' color guy, and they were not good.

I agree with you about Campbell, but I absolutely Loathe Pat Tabler, he is awful as a color guy and tends to love the sound of his own voice too much for my tastes.

Rance/Fletcher don't speak as much, but sometimes silence is golden and I'd much rather Color guys only open their mouth when they intend to add something to the discussion. I don't think Tabler does that and I find Rance/Fletcher do that a lot more. Both of them need a bit more seasoning, but they are light years ahead of Tabler IMO.

Jamie will get better, especially if he keeps going at the rate he is now. He is progressing. It takes time to groom a great PbP guy IMO.
