I wear a $75 Time Ironman Triathlon because it has a stopwatch and a plastic band for the wrist. The $500 watch my wife gave some years ago sits unused and the other $600 watch she got more recently for Christmas is something I asked her to take back just on the plain evidence I'd never use it even though it had a stopwatch.
On the other hand, she's got some crazy expensive watch bling I've bought her through the years.
Different strokes for different folks.

Doesn't need to be expensive to be a good watch. I love Seiko's, I think they are the best bang for your buck watch out there (although the best ones are all in Japan).
You should look at this site if you're ever interested in some of the Japanese models: http://www.seiyajapan.com/

That's a great looking Max Bill watch wgpflamesfan, I've always wanted one of those.
If you like that look, you should also look into Nomos....a little more expensive, but they make in-house mechanical movements (pretty rare at their price range).

My only bad comment would be that it might be hard to see what time it is, the hands blend into the face a bit too much. Could just be the picture though and in person it isn't an issue.

I am also looking into buying a new watch... though not as pricey as many of the watches in this thread so far. Any recommendations on reasonably cheap watches for me to look into?

Maybe look into skagen watches from Denmark. They are thin and really lightweight which I like. They sell them at the Bay.

As mentioned before, I think the best bang for your buck brand is Seiko. They make quality watches and most of their prices are extremely reasonable. Citizen is also a brand that makes good watches....a few pages back I put up a photo of a real thin cheapo I bought a few months ago.
Skagen's aren't going to get you much respect from watch snobs as it's purely a fashion watch, but if you like it get it, go for it. Most watches these days are just fashion items anyway, and I think they have a nice minimalist look going for them.

Yes. Seiko, Seiko, Seiko. And buy an Automatic. Google Seiko Black Monster. Great watch at a great price.

The Seiko FC Barcelona watch.
Looks pretty good, wonder how much it will cost.

I dunno, but Barca fans will want this, watching Barca is pretty boring so its good to know how much longer you have to do it for.

Pics of the restored Omega Seamaster came in. Dated to sometime in the late 40's/early 50's.

My mom thought it looked good and was a women's watch. I gave it to her. You have to admit, it could pass for a women's watch.
