Solovyov isn't better than Bean, maybe Miromanov, but if they decide to send Parekh back to junior then Miromanov becomes the 7th defenseman on the team.

While we're on the subject, wasn't Bean 13th overall?

It's not worth getting too upset about, but also not great either.

They haven’t really missed on waiving players, so they get the benefit of the doubt from me. There has been outrage over Byron, Valimaki, Phillips, Pelletier, and Ruzicka just off the top of my head. Byron is by far the best of that bunch and it’s not really impactful.

Non sarcastic reality check - all of Solovyov, Miromanov, and Bean were/are only under contract to the Flames for this season. None of them are in the long term plans, not with younger more promising defensemen in the system. They're all simply placeholders for this season, nothing more.

It really doesn’t matter. It’s not like Solovyov was the missing link here. We have other Dman #6/7 options. None of this matters, honestly.

The outrage is hilarious and predictable. I personally would have preferred Miromanov being waived but at the end of the day it's not a huge deal. But hey outrage is fun, right?

Losing a tweener defenseman is not the worst thing considering there is a bit of a logjam.
Would have preferred to see Miromanov waived (although he certainly would have cleared, and then take up a spot on the Wranglers).

You’re bang on, it would have been nice to keep him in the system. If he would have been easily the best 5/6/7th D man he wouldn’t have been waived.
So long, Solo, good luck.

I will say as someone who has never been as big on Kerins as many, I'm also glad they have more time with him, and given a choice I'm glad he wasn't claimed over Solovyov as if there is something there, it is potentially more impactful.

I'm so glad we have Sureloss on this site. The info around his pending UFA is likely what made him more "expendable" in management's eyes. There's honestly no point in keeping him around as a #7 over Bean or Miro as what he needs is playing time + they'd likely lose him to UFA anyways at the end of the year.
The only caveat is if you thought he'd be a bottom pair guy... and clearly management didn't think so.

We all know what players are Miro and Bean. They can be 3rd pairing D at top.
I think their trade value = today and trade deadline day is same. Not much.
Solovyov today is not worse than Miro and Bean. But I thought he may have a potential to become a little bit better than Miro and Bean, even in physical play.
He is today's trade value is not much, but at trade deadline the value may get higher if he can contribute a little bit for the team.

I think its likely the Avs waive him again...would the Flames be able to claim and send him to the AHL? or would he still need waivers?

Don’t the Flames get first crack? Nvm, he’d still need to clear I’m pretty sure
