I have faith that he can directly contribute to a goal for for every goal he directly contributes to against.
Bean won't do that.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Maybe Andersson sits, Parekh would play and Bean stays in.
Would be interesting.

If the flames don’t make it, I think playing with the wranglers on their playoff run would be awesome for him. Good stepping stone and a way to skirt the stupid ahl rules

If Andersson is as hurt as he looks then I think Parekh could get in.

Scenario B:
Parekh gets into the lineup right away, has some shaky moments and costs them a bad goal or two. People will be irate that Huska put him in when he's not ready, his confidence will be shot etc...
Scenario C:
Parekh gets into the lineup and leads them into the playoffs.
At this point I'm all in on scenario C. #### it. We'll do it live! No pressure kid!

He's not the silver bullet to the Flames season. But he's a bullet.
Chamber him. Let's see what happens.
He'll contribute on the PP at least. He's obviously a smart player so I'm not worried about him getting caved in his own zone.

Weegar is our best offensive defenceman and sure he turns it over but so do the best in the league. Makar is paired with Toews. Hughes is paired with Hronek.
Weegar will make mistakes, Parekh will make mistakes, but they will also create a lot of offence and they would become our 2 best skating defenceman on the team immediately.
Having a partner who can cover the entire ice is important, just as much as they give you the outlet to make plays.
|
I’m pretty sure Makar and Hughes were paired with more defensive minded partners at the start. Think it was Graves with Makar and Tanev with Hughes. It was a few years later when Makar and Toews got paired together and Hughes and Hronek were paired together. Both players came to their respective teams in a trade.
I agree with you that eventually the Flames would like a partner for Parekh that compliments his game but I can also see the reasoning to have him paired up with a defensively responsible player as he begins his career. Someone who can cover up his rookie mistakes while still allowing him to play to his strengths

I think you play him no matter what! Shelter him and give him O zone starts paired with Bahl but he gives us so much more upside than Pachal or Bean. If Ras is still good to go i'd do something like this.
Weegar - Andersson
Bahl - Parekh
Hanley - Pachal
Weegs can play the left we all know this, if Andersson is good to go I think this is our best pairings

As long as he gets protected minutes and a solid pairing partner then I'm all in on suiting him up. PP desperately needs a guy like him.

Hanley would be the ideal partner for him, IMO. Give him third pairing minutes and a seasoned steady vet to help him.

Maybe the Flames already have someone in the system. Morin, Kuznetsov, Grushnikov, or Hurtig. They can grow and develop together like MacInnis and Suter

Yeah I wouldn't be opposed to that as well. Start him on the 3rd with Hanley with 2nd PP minutes and the sky is the limit from there for him.

To be fair the most likely scenario is that the Flames don't make the playoffs, as they are considered long shots at this point. Parekh gets some valuable, but somewhat limited, pro experience, and then continues on his previous development path.
I think you're putting way too much emphasis on Perekh and his ability to influence whether or not the Flames get into the playoffs.
