I'd rather have it just be about the hockey.
Don't know why you'd worry about Boston.

I'm glad so many people have enjoyed this tournament, but I will be so glad to get back to Flames hockey, it's been a long two weeks.

I liked the tournament a lot more than I thought I would. It also made me a bit salty at the same time because it is a shame the NHL and IIHF can't work out a schedule where we get meaningful international hockey every two years.

I also prefer the tournament to be end-of-season instead of mid-season. I'm feeling a bit empty watching dog days NHL hockey after coming of the high of this tournament.

Going from a Stanley Cup final to a world Cup final in a month would be amazing.

Can't believe any player who played any meaningful playoff games would have any interest in extending their long season any further.

It happens all the time in other sports. Example basketball, Summer Olympics. Soccer, World/Euro Cup.

Olympics are in August. Soccer doesn’t have playoffs.

I don’t like shutting down mid season as well but that’s when the Olympics are. They should do the World Cup in September. 3 teams lost 3 important players. I don’t know how excited teams would be to do this every 2 years especially when you are in a playoff battle.

I thought they had agreed to rotate Olympics and World Cups every 2 years going forward.

They jumped the gun about the World Cup. They don’t have any agreements with any of the euro leagues to release players. They need that otherwise the World Cup will be an other 4 team tournament.

Or made up teams. If Russia is still banned have an over 40 team so Ovi and Sid can play together.

I wonder if he thinks he's helping sell the game talking about him and his brother fighting against Canada and putting his brother through a wall when they were kids?
