21 man roster, 27 minutes a night. What could go wrong?

From the pieces of both games I have seen so far it seems like this team is not afraid to hit and play a bit bigger. Should make for a fun season

Lol. The Oilers barely have enough legit players to ice one team? Split that in half, and it's no surprise there get thumped by a rebuilding team.

Jeff Skinner and Adam Henrique will step up. 1st liners on most teams.

Bahl is, took a puck to the ankle in practice. Doctors were considering surgery but they concluded it wouldn’t make a vas deferens.

Was at the Dome tonight. Lots of positives!

Now that the construction work on the BMO Centre is largely wound down, getting there is actually nice.

New scoreboard is very nice!

Kuzemenko - Kadri - Sharangovich looked good, even as vets in a preseason affair. Same with Backlund and Coleman.

Zary, niiiice!

Miromanov amd Grushnikov had some real jam.

Goaltending was good toom Vladar looked really solid. I think Ignatjew only saw a few shots in the 3rd so maybe we will see him again.

Klapka = Big. If he could skate faster, man, watch out.

Weegar is just a gem.

This could be a really fun season, lots of excitement andaybe more winning than we would expect.

Go Flames Go!

Watching Barrie tonight I can see how a veteran could shore up what will be an inexperienced defence core, but if he takes the spot over a Pachal, Grushnikov, or Solovyev type hungry & gritty defenseman I will be disappointed. Barrie strikes me as the type of free agent the Flames of old constantly sought out instead of promoting someone from within and I believe Conroy has a different vision. Seeing as Wolf will be leaned on hard I would be curious to know his preference for the D infront of him: experience or aggression?

That is my feeling on Honzek too, if he meets his potential he'll be one of those quiet point producers who will still end up with 2 or 3 points on many nights where you barely notice him. I can see why the Flames had Rantanen as a comparable.

All the tools (hands, skating, smarts, size) are there, just needs to grow his confidence.

Loved how pumped Coronato looked about Honzek's pass to him after his second goal.

If Barrie is signed, I'm virtually certain it will be a one-year deal and he will be traded by the TDL.

Re: The Oilers, didn't expect much from them at the game at the Dome since their PP1 was entirely in Edmonton. But, I can't believe I am saying this, I think they will really miss Holloway and Broberg. Even for a preseason split squad game, yeeesh. There was nothing there. Nothing!
