Penn State's first trip to the Frozen Four. They've only been in Division 1 since 2012.

I haven't watched a lot of college games in recent years, but that looks like a pretty standard call for that type of hit in the NCAA. They are very strict for hits to the head and hits from behind. They're almost always 5 and a game with pretty much zero tolerance.

I’m using NHL standards, I don’t watch a ton of NCAA. I’m assuming NCAA refereeing is close to IIHF?

several of Cade Littler's teammates have entered the transfer portal, including Boisvert. UND's top 2 centers moving on should give Littler more ice time in his sophomore season

Sandman, what's your thoughts on Boston First Rounder from last year, Dean Letourneau? Was surprised to see he had 0 goals and 3 assists in 36 games with one of the top teams in the NCAA. Was he a reach?

I'd like to see Suniev sign. The Flames hold his rights until 2027 though, so too early to worry about it, but it would be nice to get him in the fold.
Sergeev kind of needs to be signed this off season though as his rights expire in 2026. If he decides to go to school for another year, there is very little reason why he wouldn't just wait it out and sign as a free agent somewhere.
Was it ever confirmed how the rights to Mews and Jamieson will work now that they are expected to go to the NCAA? I recall Ryan Pike interpreted the CBA as saying teams would still have until the players leave school (so likely 4 years from when they start classes in most cases), which would put it at 2029. PuckPedia still has it as June 1, 2026 though. I am assuming that they won't update it until both players actually step foot in class, at least I hope that is the case.

I posted a few times last year that I felt he was being overrated. I felt that he was a man-sized kid dominating an inferior level of hockey, compared to most- although many pointed to him having glowing advanced stats. Still plenty of time for him to turn things around I guess, but I didn’t want the Flames to take him. I did have him in the early stages of the second round on my final list though, because of how high the scouts had him projected. The kid really does skate and stickhandle like a dream though.
I’m still shocked at how poor his numbers are this year, even despite the fact that he’s probably not getting much ice time on a stacked roster.

Is the lack of signing news around Suniev indication he will be going back for his junior year?
Any word on where Hoskins plans on transferring to?
