Even if you believe Bowman's account that he thought the President of Hockey Operations (or whoever) was "handling things" (and if you read the investigation report, the inconsistency of accounts and inability to recall critical details by all involved, including Bowman, is quite incredible), he was aware of the allegations and nonetheless stood by and, throughout the weeks that followed, personally observed the alleged (at that time as there had not been any investigation) assaulter continue to attend team events (where the complainant was also present!). He then stood by and personally observed the alleged assaulter lift the Stanley Cup at centre ice.

Sorry, but that is inexcusable for someone in Bowman's position. He should never be in a similar position again IMO.

Yeah. Even if Frank wants to hide behind 'oh there was never a full court case blah blah' it's still incorrect to say this was an 'alleged' cover up. It *was* a cover up. Maybe you don't have a Zapruder film of each and every event to know who did what, but you do know it was a cover up... to say 'alleged' is irresponsible and needlessly protective of wrong-doing.

I've defended Frank because his sources are clearly legit as he's been right about most things Flames but this just goes to show how tight the old boys club in the NHL is and that he's either a part of it or refuses to bite the hands that feed him. Disappointing for sure. Has anyone from RSN been critical of the hire as that's something I'm curious about.

This is so Oilers. Like you cant even make this up.

This franchise has been a circus for as long as I can remember and never tries to take steps to change that fact.

Embarrassing clowns continue to embarrass themselves.

What a disgusting franchise. Really makes me appreciate the Flames, ran by good people who know the importance of having good people in the fold.

F the Oilers forever.

I hope that the other 31 GMs around the league just block his number.

Also, F Seravalli. Alleged cover-up? What an ass-hat.

I have no doubt that Seravalli has good inside connections, but his tone and delivery are grating. He never misses an opportunity to pile on the Flames and now that he is also an Oilers fanboy and apologist, it's just extra annoying.

Have you seen some of the trades he's made? The other GM's are hoping he calls.

I don't think EDM has any high profile college players. Lachance and Copponi(sp) are the only ones I can think of, and I doubt either makes it to the NHL.

If they did have high end prospects they'd be graduated to the team already like they do.

Frank saying the former Hawks President is the real one to blame and almost making it sound like Bowman had no part in it...

Horrendous, horrendous analyst.

Not too late to lose another trade for Saad.

This is on page 45 of the link. no knowledge my ass!

https://www.jenner.com/a/web/8kmbgFU...r%25202021.pdf

When interviewed, MacIsaac recalled being in the executive game suite during
Game 4 (May 23) with Stan Bowman, John McDonough, then-assistant general
manager Kevin Cheveldayoff, and then-senior vice president Jay Blunk.385
MacIsaac recalled that during the game, Jim Gary entered the suite, and then
MacIsaac, Gary, and Bowman spoke in the hallway outside the suite.386
MacIsaac stated that Gary told Bowman and MacIsaac that there was
“something to it” (with regards to the information Employee A told
MacIsaac).387
When interviewed, Bowman recalled that after Game 4 ended—which was at
approximately 4:46 p.m. Central Standard Time—MacIsaac approached him
in the executive game suite.388 Bowman recalled MacIsaac stating that there
was a problem with Aldrich and John Doe, and they needed to speak with
McDonough.389 Bowman said he may have spoken to Gary as well, but he did
not specifically recall doing so.390 Bowman said he recalled feeling surprised
by what MacIsaac told him because the Blackhawks had just won and Bowman
usually went directly to the locker room after games to speak with the
coaches.

I wonder what the over/under is should the Oilers have a horrendous start to next season and coach "Q" is hired.

Is the Edmonton rink within 500 yards of any schools?

No, it is mostly surrounded by windswept vacant lots and hobo villages.

Coach Q is likely to get brought in as an assistant. Then he will be in place to pin it all on The Knob if the season starts badly.

You're talking about Edmonton, I don't think it's within 50 kms of any schools.
