At least overtime will be fun to watch when Parekh and Bru are on the roster. I won't have to run and hide anymore.

https://youtu.be/_EO5YaLM_yk?si=psm4iZdmL5dMgTkjI bet Zayne makes this team . To me he won't be initially as impactful as say a Phaneuf but he will be a solid solid contributer to the team.
He projects to put on some size and he's totally motivated as his family has 2 brothers in hockey and this kid oozes potential with no limits In sight .
I don't know what it is anout him but there's a charisma and humility that reminds me of Paul Kariya . Paul was a leader . I'll never forget him getting knocked out cold by Steven's and coming back with the biggest F U moment ive ever witnessed in the NHL .
That's what this kids aura gives off to me . Count me out ....then watch.

Hands up ...
How many that are advocating the kid making the Flames make fun of the Oilers every time they keep an 18 year old around?

Give him a 3 game look so he can get a taste of what the NHL pro game is like, send him back down to dominate in juniors and at the world juniors. Absolutely no reason to rush this kid.

For sure it can be up to 9 but my fear there is if he shows well it might entice management and fans to push for keeping him up. 3 games and send him back down would be my approach, undoubtedly though Parekh does have the skill to push for a look.

I do not think Parekh should play more than 9 games this year at the NHL level. Not good for his development and not good for the Flames.

Conroy has obviously been on the phone today with Milstein, Parekh's agent. I hope they discussed his ELC.
I assume he'll sign it later this week at the prospects camp.

There is only downside to bringing him up for year one of a tear down. Why would the Flames do that? Let him master the defensive side of his game, save two years of his elc, and let him put on some muscle. Then, unleash a 20 year old stud with 3 years of elc left at a time that the Flames MAY care about winning. These next two years should be about earning high picks. For those worried about creating a losing culture, why would the Flames expose him to that? To me, it makes no sense to bring him up now. Even if he’s ready, let him season in the ohl until it makes sense for the organization to utilize him. The added benefit is that at the end of his elc you’ll know exactly what you have as he’ll be 23 and 5 years removed from his draft year. Sign him long term so we avoid what happened to Chucky. That one still hurts my soul!

I wish they could figure out a way for AHL to be an option for higher end talents. Maybe a sharesy with the CHL for 1st rounders?
Minors for half or 3/4 of season then can go back to junior team for end of season and playoffs so teams can still benefit from them?

I wouldn’t want to undermine Backlund but the team could do a lot worse than a Giordano-Parekh pairing next year

He's in a tricky spot where he does not seem physically ready for the NHL, but the NHL or AHL would be the best league for developing his game and physical attributes.
I wonder what their plan is, maybe spreading out his 9 games over a few months so he has more time practicing, in the gym, and watching tape and then a WJC loan and back to the OHL for the run in and playoffs.

I know I spend a lot of time researching, watching tape on current and future prospects and then I come across a post like this and think "Oh you didn't know he was that good?"...I really love getting reminded and I watch the same clips with the same enjoyment as I had the first time.
So thank you. I love these kinds of posts
