DeBrusk was good when he started. Now his Oilers homerism is absolutely insufferable.

Vancouver is also Canada.
Or so I'm told.

They have had those cheer for Canadian team commercials.
They should be boycotted for having over priced crappy pizza and that dumb commercial.

And Ryan Whitney is crying about it being changed now.
Guy couldn't jump off the bandwagon fast enough at the beginning of the season and now he's back to being a massive fanboy.

I’m unclear. Is the protest to call it Vancouver pizza?
Even in penticton, Edmonton is no good.

Not sure they've seen a map lately but Penticton is much closer to Vancouver than Edmonton.
Tone deaf to keep an Oilers sign on there. And knowing Canucks faithful (and urban Okanagan people), if you don't want to invite vandalism on your business, it's wise to change it.
Interesting how petty things have gotten even before game 1, but it's (unsurprisingly) mostly been from Edmonton's end.

BP's response is completely tone deaf.
If the sign said something like: let's cheer for Canada, or Canadian teams, then sure, play the 'cup hasn't been here for 30 years' card. But the sign says 'let's go Oilers'. They are lucky crazy fans haven't burned the place down yet.
If you want to cheer for the Oilers then just own it - 'yeah, we're Oiler fans, deal with it'. But don't hide behind the fake Canadiana angle.

It is closer, but I suspect there are more ex-Calgarians than either Edmonton or Vancouver there. The interior is full of Calgarians (some are just part timers).

It's BC. They get Pacific coverage, which means VAN games. Read the room, respect the fans. Or own it.

Penticton is also where the Treliving family got into the Boston Pizza business. This feels oddly personal.

I don’t disagree. But Calgarians will be just as offended by an Oilers sign. The room is a BC bar in a town full of Calgarians. Not smart.

Lots of Oilers fans in Calgary though and we tend to be more polite about those things in general. There are a few people at work that fly their Oilers flags on their cars all the time and neither ever gets vandalized. Not sure if that would fly in Edmonton.

The amount of time DeBrusk and Monster Truck guy spend discussing missed penalty calls on the Oilers during their broadcasts is pretty over the top for a Canadian broadcast. Constant nitpicking of the officials.
