Yes, now that Tkachuk is the best player on his team and Hanifin is the best dman in this series on his team they are playing with elite players but when they were both elite playing on the same team they were playing with crap.

I love all the CPers that can’t cheer for Vegas to win a round so we can improve our draft position but will happily cheer for the Flames to crater into better picks.

The narrative that he's been so good isn't reality.
Last night at 5 on 5 he he was 5 of 6 in ice time for d men. He was moved away from pietrangelo because that pair was struggling so much.
On the series he has been on for a whopping 29 HDCA and only 12 HDCF.
Anyway you slice it he has really struggled and the coach is adjusting accordingly.

Typical fn SN, hey we are right before a game 7 between Dallas and Vegas, let's do a big pre game special about the Edmonton Oilers! What a total #### network these losers are.

I love all the CPers who would rather cheer for Vegas in the playoffs, than cheer for the Flames to get a top 5 pick.
I'm going out of my way to cheer for Dallas, because if there's one thing CP has taught me over the last few weeks, it's draft picks are draft picks regdardless of how high or low they are.

This is fun. If Las Vegas wins one game, that 3rd rounder is now a 2nd rounder.

With the Leafs out now, it only gets worse from here.

Whatever happens, I hope they show Hanifin and Tanev in the handshake line.

You keep bringing these rebuilding moves up as failures and I just don't understand your mindset? What did you want the Flames to do? Not get the best packages they could for pending UFA's that wouldn't re-sign?
Your brilliant plan of not trading Hanifin would have had him already have played his last game as a Flame last month but instead of a huge package from Vegas we would have got nothing.

Yeah and he is always ok until he met McDrai or Mackinnon
That’s a true test if he gets there

He had flashes of somewhat good on the Flames. This makes me thing that all smooth skating D-men might be good at figure skating but aren't that great playing defense (cough: JBo). They seem to be all soft and no substance. Yeah, he had a great contract year before getting traded. I'm just glad he was traded and the Flames actually gets a first rounder, Miromanov, and hopefully a 3rd rounder for him. I really don't care much about how he plays with the VGK.

Not to mention he is actually really struggling these playoffs. Was taken off his pairing because he was struggling and played 5th least 5 on 5 minutes last game for vegas D. Shows how much coach is trusting him.
His underlying stats are bad so yes he is a bum

Got the 3rd rounder. It turns into a 2nd rounder if the Knights win today.

I know no one likes seeing Vegas succeed, but the 2nd seems like ample justification to like a win for them here.
The stars pick condition is far less likely to be fulfilled and it's a worse pick.
No matter what, COL probably takes out the winner of this series anyways.
