What statement did I make that you proved to be wrong?
I guess I could clarify that there is no recent data the shows RJ is a better offensive player

And here's why internet bets are lame.
You seem to think that somehow one's willingness to put money behind their opinion is related to the strength of their arguments.
You have no idea what someone's financial situation and how big a deal $100 is to them or not.
Basically it's like saying "I'm willing to lost $100 in this argument and you are not, therefore I win".

Just so lame.

You said there is no data to suggest RJ is a better offensive player. When has Michael Backlund had a 70+ point season? When has Michael Backlund scored 30 + goals? What is their comparable ppg when both are healthy and play the majority of the season? You stated their are no stats that show RJ is a better offensive player and then used the term absolute facts which is just not true. Then it becomes a popularity contest and you get people thanking that and defending your position despite the fact anyone can look up the two players stats and see what you are saying isn't true. It is kind of like Donald Trump making his own narrative and his supporters touting it is reality when in fact, it isn't.

Ok so the basis of your argument are totals from the 2013-2015 seasons. Got it

No, the basis of my argument is their careers. Yours is to pick select years where he was injured. You want to ignore the numbers that show RJ is a better offensive player to fit your argument. I guarantee if you polled fans of other fan bases besides Colorado and Calgary and asked them who would they rather have on their PP, it isn't Michael Backlund.

The point that you are wrong? The point you tried to pass off something you said as "facts" that were actually opinion? Nope, didn't miss that at all.

I used ppg to account for injuries

So struggling trying to play through injuries over the past five years Backlund is on par with RJ. Again, show me where Backlund has put up 70 points or even multiple 60 point seasons? Or 30 + goals? Why was Backlunds last contract AAV $5.5 while Johansen got 8? Backlund is the superior two way player and tends to be healthier so surely if he was better offensively too he must have been grossly underpaid? Or you out could just admit saying Backlund was better offensively was completely assinine. Some people can't admit when they are wrong....

I never said Backlund was better offensively.
But there also isn't recent evidence that RyJo is currently a better offensive player.
The data shows that in recent seasons, they produced similarly.

Ok, well we will disagree on it. Just a difference of opinion. I really don't want to be engaged in a battle over something that in the end is irrelevant. We both agree Backlund is the better player, let's leave it at that.

Why? Because I misinterpreted what he was saying and thought maybe he was going through some hard times? How about you keep your trolling to the off topic thread and leave the hockey forum to the posters who actually care about hockey. That would be nice. Bye-bye.

Who said RyJO was struggling through injuries (as opposed to coming back healthy). And who says Backlund didn't play hurt sometimes when he was playing every game?

That's the problem with mid 30's regression from NHL players. It absolutely does happen and it typically happens all of a sudden. It's the best players in the world in the NHL and all it takes is a step being lost and then everything is gone and you're replacement level.

It happens to every player at some age in the 33-39 age and every player "looked like they could play 'til they were 40" until the step gets lost.
