Sabine is good, I don't understand the complaints.
Best part is David Tennant as the robot, his voice is just so perfect.

At the risk of veering off topic, I totally agree about David Tennent. My kids listen to lots of audio books, and some of my favourites are the "How to Train Your Dragon" series because David Tennent is the reader. Absolutely perfect.

The intro to this new Galaxy was done really well IMO. They jam-packed a lot of info into episode 6 from Thrawn and Ezra's intro's, Nightsisters doing their witchy stuff, and whatever the heck it is that Baylan is after in this new Galaxy.. I have so many questions but I feel like they nailed the delivery.
One thing that is for certain though, this feels like Star Wars to me, Dave and co. are doing something that I feel like we haven't seen George Lucas, which is to say that they are actually moving the franchise forward with fresh ideas while keeping it on-brand. Can't say I've felt like this in a long time, not since hearing about the sequel trilogy coming out. This story being adapted into a Trilogy is what I'm hoping for now, and that's without seeing the last 2 episodes.
Can't wait to see Thrawn back in our known Galaxy, and that Gold Enoch character along with all of his remaining troops, battered ship, and whatever he was loading onto the ship has me super intrigued. Thrawn is going to be a big problem and is more than worthy of being the face of the Empire in a new Trilogy, kudos to whoever directed that episode btw. Other than the flat delivery of some lines by Sabine I thought that was arguably the best episode of the season so far. The last two episodes have been craaazy.
Also, not sure where I read it but Timothy Zahn who wrote all the Thrawn books and created the character has been a consultant on the show and he's been given the green light (probably quite a while ago now) to write a new book(s) about what's been going on with Thrawn/Chimera/Ezra in this new galaxy between the end of Rebels and what we're seeing now. I'm sure based on what we've seen.. that when that book comes out it's gonna be an absolute banger.

You're right on all counts except for this.
Sabine is pretty darn bad. The way her character is written as well as the performance imo. I might just be that she sticks out like a sore thumb next to the great performances from those around her, but the point stands.
The next weakest has been Ahsoka, strangely enough. Why was she back to her pensive ways travelling in the space whale after her supposed "transformation" last episode?
Maybe that bit was filmed before the previous episode was, and she didn't get the memo that she was new/old Ahsoka now?

ya that was super cringe.
the gateway thing itself with it's animated 3d dome was also overdone IMO.

This line from the Star Wars thread over on the Something Awful forums was just too good to not share.
"I felt a great disturbance in the force... like a million nerds all learning the word "kintsugi" at once"
About the episode. I was one of those kids in Junior High devouring the original Heir to the Empire trilogy with Thrawn, the TIE Fighter PC game, and I read the first of the new canon Thrawn novels. I like his potrayal in the show.

You know when you talk with someone on the phone long before you've ever met them and you create this picture of them in your mind? Then you finally have a face-to-face dealing with them and you're like WITFITS? cause things just don't line up?
Cause my reaction to hearing Thrawn speak was basically the same. I've had a different voice for him in my head for three decades. I can't remember Rebels, so his appearance there may have acted as a sort of cushion for this blow.

Rogue Squadron series of books was the best. Still pissed that Disney cancelled that.

He could probably write something better than Patty Jenkins could.
Maybe just 'Wish Harder.'

I actually like the idea of an aging thrawn with the accompanying physique. I don't know why fans were so hung up on him not being super slender and fit. His thing isn't fighting anyways. His weapon is his mind and outsmarting his adversaries.
Mikkelson will do just fine I think.
